MINUTES OF THE

REGULAR MEETING OF THE ANTWERP TOWHSHIP BOARD


THURSDAY AUGUST 14, 2001
7:00 PM

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Supervisor Daniel J. Ruzick.


The Pledge of Allegiance to the flag was given.
Board Members Present: Bruce Cutting, Ronald Derhammer, Virg Hendrickson, Bonnie Osborne,
and Daniel J. Ruzick
Board Member Absent: None.
Also Present:

Five guests.

Motion by Osborne, second by Hendrickson to approve the agenda as presented.

Motion by Cutting, second by Osborne to approve the minutes of the July 10, 2001 meeting as
presented.

Action on Planning Commission Recommendations:

New Business:
a. Prosecuting Attorney Juris Kups for the case of McLemore Woodworking came before the
board to explain the misprint in the paper.
b. St Joseph County Conservation District concerning the Rock River Watershed Planning
Grant no action was taken.
c. Wade -Trim adjusted zoning administration assistance proposal reflecting fewer Wade-Trim
hours at the Township Hall.
d. Motion by Cutting, second by Derhammer to hold a special hearing for any objection to any
special assessment District and costs on September 11, 2001 at 6:45 for Special Assessment
District for the purpose of street lights in the Birmingham Meadows Subdivision to defray
the installation and annual operating cost for eight (8) street lights; two at the entrance to
Birmingham Meadows Subdivision, and six on the interior of Birmingham Meadows
Subdivision.

Cassopolis branch, and the new story hour will start in September.
Lawton Fire Department Cutting, reports they will be raising the millage.
Mattawan Fire Department Hendrickson, reports no report.
Cemeteries Hendrickson, reports 2 burials.
Planning Commission Derhammer, reports election of officers, MSOP Conference to be held
October 24-27 at Mackinaw Island, and meeting August 15 at Decatur High on diversity of ag.
Zoning Board of Appeals Osborne, reports approval for variance allowance.
Mattawan Quick Response Osborne, reports very short meeting nothing to add.
Recommendation from the committee on Antwerp Township, Antwerp Sunshine Library and
Mattawan Fire Department Bills. Motion by Cutting, second by Derhammer to accept bills for
payment in the amount of $76,693.39.
Roll call vote: Hendrickson-yes, Osborne-yes, Ruzick-yes,
Cutting-yes and Derhammer-yes.
