The document discusses the relationship between the five elements of the universe (fire, air, water, earth, ether), spiritual practices like yoga and Islamic salah (daily prayers), and their manifestation in hip hop culture. It argues that the five daily prayers of Muslims can be connected to sun positions and yoga postures. Each element is represented by a different aspect of hip hop - earth by the b-boy, fire by the emcee, water by the DJ, air by the graffiti writer, and ether binds them all like knowledge. Each prayer is also linked to focusing and "burning" a different element. The document aims to show the connections between traditions and their roots in the oneness of all existence.

The 5 Elements of the UNIVERSE manifest themselves
through creation as it makes up all matter in existence. Fire, Air, Water, Earth and Ether is all that there is and ever will be. The Alkhemists are the ones who seek the crystallization of these 5 elements within self according to their specific astrology and numerology. The metaphor of the Alkhemist turning lead to gold is this transformation; the lead being the physical body and the gold being our crystallized carbon based form. This transmutation of negative to positive ionization is done through various spiritual practice, but it all can be related to all that there is, these 5 elements. You see, nature is fairly simple. One is the only number in existence and every unit our mind has invented in order to count are only multiple ones. So while alkhemy, metaphysics, quantum physics and applied mathematics can be very complicated it must be understood, the root is ONE manifested in the pentagram or 5 elements. The specific spiritual practice I want to emphasize is the 5 daily prayers or salah of muslims worldwide done periodically according to the positions of the sun. These positions can be directly related to Sun asanas in the yogic tradition. Asanas can be translated to Posture like the different positions during Islamic Salah. This is because the Vedas and Gita are a precursor for Islam in tradition of oneness. The Upinashads and Dravidians can be directly linked to the East Afrikan migration which brings us back to the source of Khemet and Kush. In Khemet, the worship of different Gods were actually representations of nature manifest as is in Hindu belief. In Abrahamic tradition the words Amen and Amin come directly from Amen Ra, the Sun God. So here we are full circle as muslims following the 5 positions of the sun directly related to yoga and traced back to the raised arms and face to ground postures of the khemetic people. Knowing this doesnt make Islam wrong, but rather affirms what it is; a completion of all, of the One as our beloved prophet (sulallahu alayhi wasalaam) was the seal of all this. He didnt come to negate what came before him, but instead as a reminder of the oneness of source, Al lah, that resides within our heart. Keeping this in mind in our salah and dhikr (remembrance) comes with great responsibility and submission (islam) to ones self within. Due to the nature of positive into negative or order into chaos and into order again, these 5 basic elements manifest
themselves through our tangible realm. Represented by the
taoist Yin and Yan, it is visible how these two forces are not opposing but actually complimentary components of One whole. (see how we keep coming back to One?) Our very DNA is the universe manifest, but I strive to keep it even more simple. In fact, one of the best examples our generation can relate to for the creative expression and freedom it afforded us is Hip Hop. There is no such thing as coincidence and with the ever changing social atmosphere accepting synchronicity through personal witness in this Aquarian age, it is perfectly aligned that Islam was and still is (however underlying currently due to politics) a heavy influence in Hip (conscious) Hop (movement.) Earth is manifest from our root chakra and is represented by the B- Boy grounding and setting foundation via his or her dance expression. Fajr or pre-dawn prayer is a release of Earth (Ego). It takes fortitude and discipline to rise, clean thyself and make prayer as the birds outside are also awakening and calling their prayer to the One. Fire is represented in Hip Hop as the emcee and in Islam during Dhur prayer. Our second brain is said to be our stomach, not the organ , but this solar plexus area where our intuition flows from and where an Emcee draws creative inspiration to freestyle, write and assert his or her dominance. During Dhur, this an alkhemic burning of the self to redirect our morning towards the most high while preparing for afternoon. Water in Hip Hop is manifest in the flow kept by the DJ or Selecta providing the beats for the b boys and emcees to move and rap to. The current is set by the rhythm the DJ provides. In Islam, Asr prayer is an alkhemic focus of our water within ourselves, our emotions. In Asr, we remain still like water, still able to flow and continue the day, but still in our Iman (faith.) Air in Hip Hop is manifest by the Graf or Grafitti writer who sets a precedent for the culture by sending messages representing himself, his crew or movement by his signature tag. In Islam, Maghrib prayer is this floating self, our airy self focusing once again inwards to tag the 99 names or attributes of Allah on our hearts. Ether is the 5th element that binds them all like KRS One will tell you Knowledge, the Hip Hop equivalent binds the other 4 elements. Ether permeates all, is the unseen intrinsic force that binds physical reality. There is no Hip in Hip Hop without knowledge and sadly, the movement or Hop of today
is lacking this Knowledge and conscious element. Hence, why
it is referred to as rap by many now and many say Hip Hop is Dead. I say this is blasphemy as long as our hearts are beating and we pass it along. In Islam, Isha prayer ends the day and evening after sunset or the death of the physical as it grows dark and this prayer affirms our souls journey past illusion and into Oneness, the ether. In conclusion, I hope this brought understanding to why both Hip Hop and Islam is misunderstood in a modern world that deliberately spreads false knowledge to hide man and womans true nature, our divine Oneness in reality, but thats another article entirely.
