CHAPTER IV
SUMMARY

Based on the discussion that has been described in the previous chapter on
geological conditions of the area of research, a number of conclusions are as
follows:
1. Geomorphology unit on research areas are grouped into seven units which
is :
a) Plain Volcanic Geomorphology Unit
b) Steep Volcanic Hills Geomorphology Unit
c) Very Steep Volcanic Hills Geomorphology Unit
d) Steep Sedimentary Hills Geomorphology Unit
e) Very Steep Sedimentary Hills Geomorphology Unit
f) Steep Karst Hills Geomorphology Unit
g) Very Steep Karst Hills Geomorphology Unit

2. Based on unofficial lithostratigraphy, stratigraphic study area was divided

into three lithologies in order from old to young such as :
a) Limestone Unit (Tol)
b) Sandstone Unit/Interbedded clay (Tms)
c) Tuf Unit (Qt)

3. Geological structure that developed in the study area, the joint form of
extensional in Cintaasih, Desa Padlalarang, Ciseuruh and etc.

4. The geological history of the area of research can be followed starting

from the Late Oligocene epoch, deposited with limestone unit (Tol). On
Miocene age sandstone unit (Tms) was deposited on the marine
environment with the mechanism of turbidite. This shows that in the study
area has decreased to the deep sea. The deposition of the sandstone unit
end at N8 (Martodjojo 1984). The existence of tectonic activity in the
Miocene-Pliocene epoch (Van Bemmelen, 1949) resulted in the structure
folds, joint, and faults as well as the appointment so that the region had
returned to land. In the Holocene occurred when volcanic activity that
produces sediment volcanic tuffs forming units (Qt) deposited not aligned
(unconformity) with the unit carries.

5. Geological potential contained in the study area is

a) Geological potential that is positive among other is:

Limestone used for the base material of lime, building materials (stone
polishing), and also as a tourist area (Gua Pawon). Limestone quarry
scattered areas of research, such as mountain areas and mountain Masigit
Getu and Hawu
Sandstone quarry as building materials which located in Gunung Halimun

b) Geological potential which is negative was air pollution
