Introduction
Have
Causes of Deforestation
There can be dissimilate causes of Deforestation, but these
are considered to be the top drivers to deforestation; our planet
once housed an estimated maximum of 15 million people
in prehistory.
It
now
sustains
7
billion
people!
With
Overpopulation, there is an increase in global needs and wants,
leading to expansion and deforestation. The planets forests are
being devastated at an even rate with population growth. One of the
major global needs that cause deforestation is Agricultural
Activities. While food is becoming more demanding due to increase
of global population, huge amounts of trees are chopped down to
grow crops, cattle grazing, and for livestock. Urbanization is
another global need, which hugely causes deforestation. Trees are
chopped down to build roads and for the expansion of more
infrastructures due to overpopulation.
Other roots of deforestation include Logging, Mining, &
Forest Fires. Logging, including illegal logging, is considered to be
one of the major drivers of deforestation. Cutting down trees for
wood supplies, paper, matchsticks, furniture, fuel (firewood &
Charcoal), etc. It is estimated that organized criminals get
between $10-15 billion dollars from illegal logging per year. Due to
Mining, forests are destroyed to dig open pit mines to get out
minerals below surface. Not only that but 100s of trees are lost due
to forest fires in parts of the world. This happens due to extreme
warm weathers, mild winters, lightning, or human activity such as
smoking, camping, burning debris, and other careless mistakes.
Which parts of
deforestation?
the
World
are
heavily
causing
Some countries that in the top ten which cause deforestation are:
Honduras with a 37% forestry decline, Nigeria with a 36% forestry
decline, The Philippines with a 32% forestry decline, Benin with a 31%
forestry decline, Ghana with a 28% decline, Indonesia with a 26%
decline, Nepal and North Korea with a 25% decline, and Ecuador and
Haiti with a 22% decline. These countries are the main factors, which
contribute to deforestation and habitat loss.
Global impact
Every year thousands of creatures face agony because of a
crime, deforestation. These creatures are not the humans, which
strive for self-salvation but the animals that have to suffer because
of us. Forests are the habitat to millions of animals, which live on
the 70% of earths land with forests. Deforestation is also a harsh
and grave cause of climate change. Our precious trees obstruct the
suns powerful rays emerging to the ground. Without the protective
trees the soil will eventually dry causing deserts to form. This
process is commonly referred to as desertification. The trees also
absorb several greenhouse gases, which are potential causes of
global warming. Without the trees these perilous gases could enter

What we recognize as trees animals recognize the same as
homes. Over 70% of the worlds plants and plants live in forests.
Habitat loss is a very crucial issue and if it continues then
deforestation may be the reason of death of over millions of
animal/plant species extinction. Local communities rely on plants
and animals for medicine but even ripping out a tiny plant is
referred to as deforestation. Deforestation affects biodiversity
climacterically because forests provide watershed protection, timber
products; trees also prevent soil erosion, maintain the water cycle
and operate photosynthesis. Colossal amounts of forests are
continuing to perish as they are harvested for human consumption
and in the process thousands of organisms lose their home. Animals
have poor chances of surviving after such deforestation acts and it
may even harm nearby habitats due to the certain vegetation which
animals strive for.
Organizations
To prevent this incompetent issue many organizations felt the
need to take change so REDD+ (Reducing Emissions from
Deforestation and Forest Degradation) stood up and made a
strategy. They made a strategy for developing countries in 2005 to
reduce greenhouse gas emissions with the help of enhanced forest
management. To support this foundation Norway and Brazil have
pledged $2.5 billion for this policy and in 2020 Brazil will have over
80% of its deforestation rates dropped. Brazil is being very attentive
since they understand the destruction of deforestation thus from
1996-2005, 67% of the deforestation rates diminished. The WWF
(World Wide Fund for Nature) is also taking action to prevent
deforestation since the past 50 years with full dedication. The WWF
collaborates with the government, companies and communities to
raise awareness and promote certification for forest management
practices and other ways humans try to cut trees. The Worldwide
Fund for Nature defends trees from illegal logging and trade policies.
Deforestation. Not only that but also several different ways are
being created to save energy such as building electric cars which do
not release pollution into the air so that global warming doesnt
affect deforestation due to the decrease of trees population.
