Theaftermarkettowbarrequirestheinstallationofanelectriccoolantpump.AllFocus2011.25builtfrom
06.08.2012upto04.05.2014(buildcodeCEEJ)onwardsarenotfittedwiththeadditionalelectric
coolantpumpinthecoolantcircuit.
Theelectriccoolantpumpisonlyactivatedwheneverthecoolanttemperatureexceedsacriticalvalue.
Thiscanoccurinparticulariftheenginehasbeenoperatedatahighloadforalongtimeandisthen
parkedimmediatelyafterwards.Forexample,afteralongmotorwayjourneyathightrailerloads,with
subsequentparkingataservicestation.Thiscanleadtoanexcessivebuildupofheataroundtheengine
aftertheenginehasbeenswitchedoff.ThePCM(PowertrainControlModule)activatestheelectric
coolantpumptopreventanydamageduetothisbuildupofheat.Itcanthereforebethecasethatthe
electriccoolantpumpcontinuestorunforacertainperiodoftime.
NOTE:ForPCMReprogramminguseIDS81.05DVDoralaterversion.
Shouldacustomerexpressadesiretohaveanaftermarkettowbarinstalledonthevehicle,therequired
electriccoolantpumpshouldbeinstalledaswell.Thisbulletindescribestheprocedurenecessaryto
installthecorrespondingcomponents.

Select<ModuleProgramming>andthenpressthetick.
Select<ModuleReprogramming>andthen<PCM>.ProgramthePCMwiththerequiredlevel.
IDSaskswhetherTSB35/2012hasbeenappliedornotandthusleadstothecorrectupdate
path.
ModuleReprogrammingstarts.FollowtheonscreeninstructionsfromIDSstandardand
confirm.
