Potential problem

Troubleshooting methods

Pre Production

Work may be incomplete, unsaved or

lost during pre-production
Trouble arranging locations for
filming the production
Someone may not work as effectively
as the group wants to be.
A member of the group may not turn
up to lesson quite often and cause the
group or themselves to fall behind.
The computers that are being worked
on could corrupt and become
unusable.

Backup the work on memory sticks

and be sure to save progress regularly.
Try booking multiple locations that
could be suitable for filming day.
Give them less tasks and back them up,
making sure to leave proof of whos
done the work.
Have an extra member fill in for them
or have that member spoke to so they
can work at home if coming in is an
issue.
Always save every 10-15 minutes and
carry a U.S.B. to save the work on at
the end of every lesson and work from
that instead of the computer hard
drive.

Production

Weather may affect the production

process, delaying the production.
Camera lense may be on the camera,
and may be forgotten to be removed
and shots may not be filmed
Batteries may be depleted and the
camera may not be able to films our
production
Actors (Main Protagonists) may not
be available for productions at all
times.
The audio operator may not be
available, and with a temporary
stand- in the may not set up the audio
equipment correctly
Post Production

Check weather reports before

production to set a date.
Check recordings strait after filming
while still on site, lost scenes can then
be re-filmed.
Bring a spare batteries and charger, so
when one battery dies a fully charged
spare should always be available.
Check with the actors when they're
available and change the filming times,
so while filming each scene the right
actors are available.
Hire two audio operators with
availabilities that make it possible for
at least one of them to be on set at a
time, if not both.

The work could turn out wrong and
have issues or skips in the final video
that hasnt been checked in the
production.
The footage call all become broken
and not usable again.

The video may break some of the

OFCOM rules and isnt advised to be
put on certain channels at times so it
isnt there to be seen by the
consumers.

Unit 3: Interaction
Make sure all of the camera equipment
is up to scratch and doesn't have any
hardware or software issues.
Make sure that you have a backup of
the footage on a separate computer
that isnt connected to any network so
isnt prone to any DDOS or malware
attacks.
Make sure that you have had extra
footage showing an alternative way of
showing the product and how it is
used.
