direction to make a quick decision, our senses and logic are overwhelmed so that
we react instead of just thinking it through and then acting on what is factual.
Proverbs 29:25 says, The fear of man is a snare (trap, take captive, control):
but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.
Here is an example of fear being a trap. In other words, a bondage. A snare is a
trap that has been intentionally set, for the purpose of catching a prey. From
Websters definition it is akin to a Greek word narks which means numbness.
It was used in scripture and defined by Webster of catching a bird in a noose.
So the question is this: if fear is a trap that has been intentionally set to make us
numb, is it something we should live with? The answer should be obvious NO!
Fear can be in control if we fear, but if we trust God, it will die a defeated foe as
doubt dies when confronted by faith.
SITUATIONAL IFFICS
Fear for some is based on situational ethics. Many deplore and hate this as a
Humanistic Philosophy being taught throughout out society, but they dont realize
that FEAR is based on situational IFFICS. What IF this happens? What IF that
happens? We fear what has not happened, what probably wont happen, and we
cant change anything that has happened by fearing it and worrying about it
anyway.
Isaiah 54:11-15 God promises a future of comfort (not necessarily in this life),
for His people. They will have no FEAR and be far from terror and oppression.
Those who gather against us will fall.
So we see that God does not drive us to fear, nor should His children fear
because He will keep us safe in His hand. We forget God when we fear, just as
we doubt God when we disbelieve what He can do.
