Expectations and Rules

I expect all students to attend every class on time, to pay
attention, and to stay until the end of the class. Since this course
requires a great amount of listening, it is essential that the student is
present at all times. As mentioned under grading, student participation
is part of the grade; therefore, frequent tardiness or absences will
result in a lower grade. If the situation arises, the student must initiate
drop procedures.
The student will be required to attend 2 professional or collegelevel classical concerts and write a 2-page report for each of them.
Proof of attendance such as a ticket stub or program must be attached
to the paper. All assignments should be typed, double-spaced, and
turned in on time in order to receive credit.
No food or drinks are allowed in the classroom. The use of all
electronic devices is not allowed during class. This includes cell
phones, laptops, ipads, etc All phones must be put in silent mode,
not in vibrate, but in silent, and texting is completely prohibited during
class. Disruptive behavior will not be tolerated, and it will result in you
being dropped from the class. Any form of plagiarism or cheating is
prohibited and it will result in an F grade. In the case that an exam or a
quiz has to be made up it must be done within the week, and the
student must present proof of a valid excuse.
