Course Overview:
Microwave Engineering & Digital Communications Lab provides practical hands to explore in wired and
wireless communications. The objective of this lab is to give practical knowledge on digital communications
with pulse code, differential pulse code & delta modulations and digital modulation techniques with
Amplitude, Phase & frequency shift keying and to calculate Scattering parameters & characteristics of
Microwave devices & sources.

Course Objectives:
1) To gain the practical hands-on experience of various microwave sources & devices and digital
Modulations & communications Schemes.
2) To prepare mathematical background for communication signal analysis.
3) To understand and analyze the signal flow in a digital communication system
4) To understand the concepts and principles of microwave engineering
5) To understand the operation of different types of microwave devices.
6) To Calculate the scattering parameters of different micro wave devices

1) Understand Basics of Digital Modulations and Microwave engineering
2) Analyze the generation of Various digital modulations & Schemes and wave
propagation inside rectangular wave guides
3) Determine the Bit Rate & Baud Rate in digital modulations and frequency performance characteristics
of microwave devices.
4) Verification of reconstruction of analog signals and ideal characteristics of microwave
devices.
5) Remember for phasor diagrams & truth tables of digital modulation schemes and basics of
transmission lines.
6) Ability to identify and study the performance of Wave Guides and Resonators
7) Study the comparative performance analysis of Microwave Tubes and Circuits
8) Knowledge about Microwave Measurements.
