Experimental Procedures
AR grade glacial acetic acid and formic acid were
used for weight loss studies. In addition, for
polarization studies sodium acetate (CH3COONa),
sodium formate (HCOONa) and sodium sulphate
(Na2SO4) were also used. CH3COONa, HCOONa and
Na2SO4 were crystallized and dried under reduced
pressure. Double distilled water was used to prepare
