The Grove New Jazz Sessions

2017.*
The monthly gigs in October, November and December have
started to show some of the fresh jazz talent on the Leeds
music scene. The bands playing in the new year promise to
build on that reputation.

Sunday 20th Jan King and I

Adding new ideas and arrangements to the benefits of an
established band , King and I come to reconnect with the
Grove, one of our favourite small jazz venues, where they
played at the old Grove Jazz Club. And they play jazz you will
know . But with vocals and lead trombone , they bring a
distinctly different style to the party.

In an increasingly noisy world, the Quiet Jazz Project offers a
respite, a brief period of calm. We have been exploring ways of
physically playing our instruments very quietly, and ways of
playing and interacting as a group, to produce an overall effect
of quietness. And yes we really do have 2 electric guitars, a
trumpet and drums ! Come and see what it s all about. You
may be surprised.....
