Street, the Milk River Catfish Classic takes the
center stage as the biggest party of the year
as the calcutta is held at the Montana Bar on
an early June Friday night. The 18th Annual Cat

January 9, 2017 at Valley View
Home in Glasgow.
A Rosary will be prayed
Friday, January 13th at 7:00 p.m.
at St. Raphaels Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial will
be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January
14, 2017 at St. Raphaels Catholic Church with Father Jose
Valliparambil and burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in
Glasgow. A luncheon will follow the burial. Condolences may
be left at bellmortuarymontana.com.

Esther was born November 1, 1916 in Glentana, Montana
to William and Mary (Suek) Niehoff. She attended school in
Glentana and graduated in 1934 from Opheim High School.
She earned her teaching degree from the College of Great Falls
where she was also in the first graduating class. She taught
school for forty years in Glentana, Richland, Opheim, Libby,
Scobey, Kalispell and Glasgow.
She married Clifford Halvorson in December 1943.
Clifford passed away in April of 1945. She later married Lloyd
Sorenson in January of 1956. The couple made their home in
Glentana for a few years before moving to Glasgow in 1961.

Esther was a member of St. Raphaels and Retired Teachers
Association. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and traveling.
She was also known as a good cook.

Esther is survived by four nieces, Kathleen (Ron) Hilbig
of Great Falls, Margaret (Kenny) Pollington of Helena, Joan
ODonnell of Helena and Suzanne Bloomquist of Spokane;
nephews Walt (Martha) Niehoff, Jr., of Seattle and Bill (Debbie)
Niehoff of Helena; brother, Walter Niehoff of Helena; and
three step-children, Harold Sorenson, Marjorie Tankin and
Linda Gruver; and special neighbors, friends and caretakers,
Kim and Norm Girard.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Clifford
Halvorson and Lloyd Sorenson; parents, William Bill and
Mary Niehoff; sisters, Julie Niehoff and Leona OBrien; and
niece Elaine OBrien+ Kling.

old record of 3 inches set in 1972. Now we can expect two
nights of bitter cold temperatures and wind chills of nearly
40 below. In addition to the cold wind chills, northwest
winds will produce drifting snow across roadways at times.
Today: A 40% chance of snow showers after 2:00. Mostly
cloudy, with a high near 4. Wind chill values between -10
