Call for application: Intensive Practical Training Course on Solar Energy

The Center for Environmental and Smart Technology at Fayoum University in

cooperation with Arab German Young Academy is pleased to announce the call for
applications for intensive practical training course on solar energy. The course will
provide the participants with the theoretical and practical knowledge needed for
different types of solar energy systems. It will bring together experts in energy from
across disciplines. Throughout the training the participant will be provided with upto-date knowledge in the following topics (Desalination, PV solar systems, and solar
thermal systems).
Course content:

Solar Radiation
Introduction to Solar thermal systems.
Solar tracking systems &Orientation , Connection of PV panels
Modeling &Simulation of Photovoltaic systems
Modeling & Simulation of Solar thermal systems
Introduction to water technology &Solar desalination
Solar driven RO system & water quality

Different types of PV cells and modules

Different types of solar collectors (flat plate, vacuum tube and swimming
pool collector)
Advanced automatic weather station
solar driven reverse osmosis desalination system (PV-RO system)
Biaxial solar tracker system
Pyranometer
Keithely parameter analyzer (2450)
Temperature data loggers
PV analyzer (IV 400)
Solar path finder

Eligibility:

Undergraduate students (Third and Fourth years only) Graduates holding

Bachelor degree, Master and PhD student
in a relevant field of Science
(Chemistry/
Physics)
or
Engineering
(Materials/Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical) with at least accumulative grade
of Good.
