DISABLE TOF AND PRINTERS ON TCSS
Introduction
As part of the upgrade process from Thomson Reuters Dealing to Thomson Reuters FX Trading (FXT) clients may
disconnect Printers and TOF handler which are connected to the TCSS. If clients do disconnect printer and TOF feeds
from the TCSS then the instructions detailed in this handout must be followed.
The Printer and TOF feeds must be disabled on the TCSS if you want to dual run Dealing 3000 and FXT, and:
1.

Physical Printers or Print Server Pro have been disconnected from the TCSS

2.

The TOF handler (Client Back office system) has been disconnected from the TCSS

Failure to disable the TOF or Printer feeds could cause service issues with the legacy Dealing 3000.

Pre-requirements
Before the changes can be made, a small patch must be downloaded to the TCSS by Thomson Reuters. Please
contact your local Technical account manager (TAM) who can arrange for the installation of this patch.

TCSS login account

Clients have access to a Client site administration account (CSA). Details below:

Username: CSA

Password: client12

Before you start

Warning:

Disabling the printer and TOF feeds will delete all TOF and printer data stored in the TCSS.
There is no process available to undelete this data. It is possible to re-enable the Feeds on the TCSS
however this will NOT undelete previously deleted data.

Before making any changes on the TCSS you must confirm that all required data is available via the new FXT
adapter feeds.

Confirm no users are on the system - All Dealing 3000 keystation users must be signed out/off the system before
disable the Serial Printer / TOF.

Instructions to disable TOF and Printer Feeds

Log onto the TCSS

Once logged on CSA, you can access the shortcuts.

For W2003 select Start > All Programs > TCSS Utility:

For W2008R2 select Start > Documents > TCSS Utility:

The available shortcuts shown are:

Printer Disable: - disables the Serial Printer Port

Printer Enable: - enables the Serial Printer Port

TOF Disable: - disables TOF

TOF Enable: - enables TOF

Select the appropriate links to disable the printer and/or TOF feeds.

Applying your changes

After making any changes the CSA user must restart the Reuters Dealing Direct server via Product Administration
for the changes to take effect.

Select Start > All Programs > Product Administration:

In the Transaction Client Site Server window select Reuters Dealing Direct Server.

Click the Stop button. After a few seconds the status will change to Stopped.

4.

In the Transaction Client Site Server window select Reuters Dealing Direct Server.

5.

Click the Start button. After a few seconds the status will change to Running.

6.

The Printers and TOF connections can now be physically disconnected from the TCSS. Printers connect via a
serial connection. TOF is via a UTP network cable (NIC port 2)
