COUNTER AFFIDAVIT

I, BETINA CANLAS MEDINA, Filipino, of legal age, married and presently

residing at Unit 1616 Avida Towers Alabang, Muntinlupa, Philippines, after having been
sworn in accordance with law do hereby depose and say:

I deny the allegations of bigamy under Art. 349 of the Revised Penal Code
filed by Leah Olivar on August 28, 2014.

I am a baptized Catholic Christian on Aug. 22, 1988 in Our Lady of
Guadalupe Church.

I met Clark Gammad Medina on Sept. 19, 2005 when I visited my sister
Mariah Canlas in Riyahd, Saudi Arabia who works as nurse in the Medical City.
After a few months of dating, he told me that he was a converted Balek-Islam.

After three years of dating, I decided to break up our relationship because
I believed that my parents would not support my relationship with Clark because
he was a Muslim and of different religion from mine but continued to be friends
with him. Thereafter, I returned back to the Philippines.

On April 23, 2011, I learned that Clark married Leah Olivar in Saudi Arabia
and began exchanging correspondence with him in our social media accounts in
Facebook.

Upon learning that Clarks mother- Mrs. Claudia Powers was diagnosed
with colon cancer, I continually visited her in the hospital and took care of her
during her chemotherapy because I was very close to her and treated her as my
second mother. When Clark returned to the Philippines to take care of his
mother, we began our dating relationship again in 2011.
(7) On September 6, 2013, I learned that I was pregnant with Clarks child and
after telling him of the same, he agreed to marry me for the sake of our child and
to prevent me from giving birth out of wedlock.
(8) After securing all the requirements provided under the Muslim law, Clark was
able to secure a Certification from the Shariah Court and was permitted to marry
me as his second wife.

(9) Since no objections were raised by his wife, Clark and I were married on
December 8, 2013 in a Church wedding and started living together at Unit 1616
Avida Towers Alabang, Muntinlupa.
(10) However, shortly after giving birth or on June 20, 2014, Leah returned to the
Philippines and after gaining entry in our home, began shouting and insulting
Clark and I. She cursed me and called our child an abomination and a sin against
God. She then threatened to hurt us by saying, MAG INGAT INGAT LANG
KAYO. MGA BASTOS KAYO ANG DAPAT SA INYO BINABARIL. MGA WALANG
HIYA! HINDOT!
(11) I am executing this Counter-Affidavit to attest to the truth that IDID NOT
COMMIT THE CRIME OF BIGAMY in whatever form as erroneously and
maliciously alleged by the Complainant.
