Children were able to identify the names of the different community helpers as well as
composing and writing sentences about the desired community helper. Children were also
relatively well-behaved and able to participate in the activities found in the lesson.
2. Were the lesson objectives achieved?
Yes, the lesson objectives were achieved as they were able to identify the names, compose
and write sentences about the desired community helper. This is because the children were
shown pictures and read a book to help them identify the various community helpers. The
show and tell activity also helps them to think and verbalise about the desired community
helpers before they were to write sentences about them.
3. Recommended changes, if required?
Children could showcase their work at the end of the lesson by using the puppet. This could
also provide more time for the children to role play by using the puppet.
4. What would be the follow up plans/ extensions/ reinforcements?
Children will be given a chance to experience being the community helper. For example,
teacher can provide opportunity for children to dress up as the teacher for the day and allow

them to conduct various aspects of the lesson such as storytelling to the rest of the class.
