Fitzgeralds The Great Gatsby

Lets talk about Fitzgeralds newest novel, The Great
Gatsby. Do I need to point out the climax? I truly believe that
this is one of the best novels to be released during this
decade due to the climax. In literature, the climax is the most
important, the most exciting part of a novel. Fitzgerald writes
about ongoing affairs, and secret loves. He builds up to
Myrtles death, which sparks a chain reaction that leads to
Gatsbys death. He builds the climax by writing about Tom
Buchanans conversation with George, Myrtles husband. Tom
tells George that Gatsby killed his wife. George is now
determined to kill Gatsby. Fitzgerald writes the beginning of
Gatsbys death in a peaceful and quiet space almost as if
Gatsby was content. As a reader you are relaxed, you are put
to ease by Gatsbys state, but then George upsets the silence
when he murders Gatsby and then kills himself. Fitzgerald
wrote about love, scandal, crime, and the lifestyle of the elite.
All of these events led to a climax that no one was expecting.

Our opinion
After reading The Great Gatsby, we thought
that it would only be fair if we were to share our
opinion with our readers. The Great Gatsby written
by F. Scott Fitzgerald will be and will continue to be
one of the greatest novels written in the history of
literature. We believe that Fitzgerald did a fantastic
job at displaying an over-exaggerated first-class
society filled with parties, scandals, crimes, and
broken hearts. Fitzgerald created a society in which
all of us would like to be part of. Whether you were
Myrtle and you were faking your status, or you were
Gatsby, the man that everyone was talking about.
Fitzgerald also incorporated amazing imagery into

As females, reading Fitzgeralds novel, the

love and scandals consume us. Its juicy, its
interesting, and its a nail biter. The more I think
about the novel, the more I think about Daisys
decade long secret love affair with Gatsby. She
loves him, she leaves him, she loves him, and she
leaves him. The process repeats throughout the
years and it is devastating. It makes me question,
did she even genuinely love him in the
beginning? Or was it all a lie? Ladies, never pull a
Daisy Buchanan. Our advice to you is to never
mess with love and anothers feelings because
clearly that decision will haunt you later in life.
Daisy lost Gatsby, a man who truly loved her.
Now, she is left with Tom, an empty, self-centered
man. Do I pity her? No. I believe that Daisy got
what she deserved. Please take our advice and
do NOT end up like Daisy, alone and selfish. You
will end up missing out on the greatest joy of life,

there with the characters watching it all happen as a

bystander. For example, when Fitzgerald writes about
Gatsbys first encounter with Daisy he describes the
day to be rainy and cloudy. As a reader, I
automatically heard the sound of rain hitting the
pavement, and I smelt the distinct smell of newly
fallen rain. Finally, Fitzgerald topped off the novel by
writing it in a way that included the reader. As we got
to know characters, we built relationships with them
throughout the novel. We experienced a similar pain
as to what the character was experiencing, as well as
resentment and other feelings towards other
characters. Overall, through Fitzgeralds works in The
Great Gatsby, it made out to be an amazing novel
because of the exciting events, themes, imagery,
and bonds with characters. We here at The Voice of
New York highly recommend reading this book! You
