Important Notes:
Students must attend at least 80% of the total class hours.
Three times of 15 minute late are considered 1 absence.
2 marks will be deducted for each absence.
Sick leave is an exception if a medical certificate from
hospital is presented. Business leave is granted only for
students who have to be representatives of the university.
Students who are absent more than 5 times cannot take
the final exam.
Students must contact the English Department, the Faculty
of Liberal Arts within 7 days if they miss the mid-term or
final exam must contact the English Department, and
within 3 days if they miss Listening Test.
Project (group work):
In groups of 4 or 5, students make a 5-6 minute long
video clip to
1) summarize the movie;
2) discuss their opinions toward the story and/or the characters
in the movie; and,
3) discuss the lessons they learn from the movie.
Each student must equally participate in the video clip.
E-Learning (individual work): Students must complete
Progress Tests of Units 6-10.
70% or more in each unit: 10 marks
50% or more in each unit: 5 marks
Lower than 50% in each unit: 0 marks
Writing Assignment (individual work): Each student writes
2 drafts of a paragraph (within 200 words).
Writing Test (individual test): In class, each student writes a
paragraph of a given topic within 200 words.
Impromptu Speaking Test: In groups of 4 or 5, students
discuss their projects with the teacher about 5 minutes.
