AIESEC in TURKEY

Addressing SDG 4 Quality Education


4.7 By 2030, ensure that all learners acquire the knowledge and
skills needed to promote sustainable development, including,
among others, through education for sustainable development
and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality,
promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global
citizenship and appreciation of cultural diversity and of cultures
contribution to sustainable development.

Project Description
According to Post-2015 Data
Test Report, Turkey has made
significant progress regarding
achievemtn of illenium
Development Goals, it has been
fairly succesful especially with
eradicating extreme poverty,
however principal
shortcomings are in the areas
of promoting gender equality
and empowering women, as
well as ensuring environmental
sustainability.

Turkish Ministry of Development had a


leading role in ensuring imlementation of
MDGs ir SDGs, however the general public
and even academics do not closely follow
progress on the MDGs or the SDG process,
what is threating the succes of SDGs
implementation and implementing changes
for Turkish society.
Meet My World, powered by AIESEC, in
collaboration with Turkish high-schools,
aims to raise mulitcultural awareness of
Turkish Youth and educate them about
different aspects sustainable development
and empower them to act upon it,
contributing to SDG 4.7.

By Meet my World,
we will not only
increase awareenss
about sustainable
development and its
issues, but also
empower them to
act upon it on daily
basis to implement

entirely in the long
run.

Implementation Methodologies
The format of the project are workshops prepared for high-school students,
delivered in an interactive way of sessions, games and simulations in order to fully
engage participants.
WEEK 1: Orientation week, during which internts will get prepared for their
experience in Turkey and recieve assistance from AIESECers and teachers to
prepare for workshop delivery.
WEEK 2: This week interns will start delivering workshops in high-schools,
starting from introducing to students to their cultures by presentations and
games to prepare the to next parts of project.
WEEK 3: Interns will deliver workshops and debate activities regarding the idea
of sustainable development and SDGs, explaining them on examples of their
countries and cultures, also making students aware what is the curent state of
Turkey in terms of sustainabe development.
WEEK 4: In this week they will deliver soft-skill workshops for students to
empower them to act upon the issues they consder important. Topics will include
presentation skills, time management, project management etc.
WEEK 5: In the final week of EPs interaction with students, they will gather all the
knowledge and skills delivered to them to help them execute 1 week microprojects of students for their local community, adressing sustainable
development issues.
WEEK 6: During last week interns will focus on reporting of the project to school,
minicipality and showcasing the impact by different channels and media,
organizing events with universities, schools and

Coordination Mechanisms
AIESEC:
1. AIESEC Team will be responsiblie of the
coordination between schools and aligning project's
timeline &agenda with teachers
2. Recuiting international volunteers that has the
right background profile to deliver this project to
students
3. Preparing interns before and after arrival to
deliver quality content during project.

In every school we want to
impact 50 students through
workshops and raise awareness
to 150 students in school.
During one project's realization
we will impact 2500 high-school
students and reach 7500 with
raising awareness.
