Art 3 is 60% of you're a - level and is assessed out of 120 marks. 87% = A
grade.

Record ideas, observations and insights relevant to intentions, reflecting

critically on work and progress.

25% - A04 Personal presentation -

Present a personal and meaningful response that realises


intentions and, where appropriate, makes connections between visual and other elements.

This includes Summer project, Exposures triangle, Ambient


lighting, Studio lighting and Night Photography.
This should also include amendments from feedback received.
Mood boards should contain artist names, body of work titles
and brief annotations explaining why they are present what
ideas they inspire.
Brainstorms should be full and developed. I should be able to
see the link to your shoots without effort.
This should not be in sketchbooks at the moment but there
should be gap present. This should be handed in via Moodle and
respond well to teacher feedback.
This should contain
1. Annotated contact sheets.
2. Best images printed at high quality.
3. Record of any editing via screen shots.
Each shoot should be reflected upon in depth. This should lead
into a shooting plan for your next shoot by reflecting critically on
your use/success of the following techniques.
- Vantage points
- Exposure triangle
- Lighting
- Colour palette.
- Composition and framing
- Suitability of location
- Directing subjects.

This shooting plan should contain sketches and new artist


research. For example, if you believe your lighting lets your
image quality down in shoot 1, your shooting plan should
include research on an artist whose lighting technique you
intend to apply to your next shoot and further technical research
on how to achieve this.
If your concept has evolved its great to include contextual
research on key issues. For example, Guardian or BBC articles,
info from films or documentaries.

Lastly has your work/imagination/ideas been informed by


alternative mediums. For example, painting, film, articles, music
(synaesthesia)? Is there a record of this.
