B. Basic Competencies

3.2 Comparing the process of formation of ionic bonding, covalent bonding, coordination
bonding, and metallic bonding and its relationship with the physical properties of the
compounds are formed.
4.1 Process and analyze the comparison process of forming an ionic bond, covalent bond,
coordinate covalent bonds, and metallic bonding and interaction between particles
(atoms, ions, molecules) of matter and its relationship with the physical properties of
the material.

ACTIVITIES
A. INTRODUCTION
1. The teacher entered the classroom and greet the student,
"Assalamulaikum kids!"
2. The teacher creates an atmosphere of religious classes to appoint the
head of the class to lead the prayer.

1. Observing
1. The teacher divides the student into groups where the group has been
divided before the teacher and gives student a number so that each student
in the group have different numbers, according to the number of student in
the group (each group again consists of 3-5 people).
2. Teacher gives student worksheets containing issues concerning lewis
structure and covalent bonding.
3. The teacher stated that every student should understand and master each
problem discussed in the group for student who will be the presentation will
be drawn at random by the teacher just before the presentation is done.
4. Student understand and learn the worksheets provided by the teacher.

2. Asking
1. Student ask questions of worksheets that have been observed to teachers.
2. The teacher asks questions related to the made lewis structure and form
covalent bond (single, double and triple bond)

1. Student are asked to discuss the answer to the questions in the


worksheets and each student is required to understand the material covered
in that group.
2. Student search about covalent bond material from another source books
and the internet.
3. Student identify which compounds have covalent bonds ((single, double
and triple bond))
4. Student identify the differences between both of them.
4. Associating
1. Student are asked to discuss the answer to the questions in the
worksheets and each student is required to understand the material covered
in that group.
2. The teacher pointed to one of the numbers and the number of student
selected in a group will present the answer from the discussion that they
have done.
3. Student who earn the same as the number of student in the classroom
presentation is responsible for helping a friend who was a presentation if
there is a question of another group or adding a friend if less complete
answer.
5. Communicating
1. The other student were asked to respond to the answer from the
discussion presented by the presenter or ask to presenters with polished and
polite.
2. Teacher added material is necessary to be submitted with regard to the
material so that student can understand the concept of covalent bonds well.
C. CLOSING
1. Teacher with student conclude about the material that has been studied as
well as straighten teachers equate the concept and student understanding
of the covalent bond.
2. The teacher asks the student " do you feel happy and understand our
lesson today?"
3. Teachers held evaluation on the material that has been studied to measure
the extent of student understanding.
4. The teacher gives homework on covalent bond individually to student.
5. Teachers give student opportunities for reflection on where the material
that student are still not understood.
6. The teacher ended the lesson and give the message to always learn and
keep the spirit.
