Picto-narrative on 2016 Annual 18-day Campaign to end

Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC)
Theme: Violence Free Community Starts with Me
Every individual has rights and these were embodied in the law. Sometimes,
these rights were violated and violence was developed to the vulnerable victims, the
women and children. To answer the call, authorities together with Department of
Education enjoined in the 2016 Annual 18-day campaign to end Violence Against
Women and Children (VAWC) which was started last November 25 to December 12.
The campaign aims to increase awareness of rights-bearers on VAWC and to
augment the efforts of duty-bearers in eliminating gender-based violence, increase
commitment of rights-holders in eliminating VAWC; and forge partnerships among
stakeholders in addressing VAWC.
Balion Elementary School joined the
campaign and launched a kick-off program

The school invited a police officer, PO2 Murillo, and conducted an information
drive to stakeholders. The lecture was fruitful because parents and children were able to
know their rights and the ways on protecting themselves.
