Identity theft has become the most organized and costly crime of our day. It was the number one consumer complaint at the Federal Trade
Commission in 2015. Identity theft can affect various aspects of your life financial, health and medical, and tax returns. The 2016 Identity
Fraud Study, released by Javelin Strategy & Research, found that $15 billion was stolen from 13.1 million U.S. consumers in 2015. The U.S.
Department of Justice estimates that it costs an average of $4,930 and 200 hours to resolve and recover from identity theft. An identity thief only
needs one or two pieces of information to tap into the various aspects of your life.
One of the things that you can do to prevent ID theft of all types is to safely dispose of confidential information. One way to do this is to
shred personal information. A common question is, How long should I keep what? Any supporting documents that affect your tax returns
should be kept for three years from the time of your filing the return. Tax returns themselves should be kept permanently. Pay stubs should be
kept until the W2 has been issued and the information verified, then they can be destroyed. Credit card and ATM receipts should be kept until
you have received your statement and verified that information. Monthly bills such as phone, utilities, and insurance payments can be destroyed
annually. Doctor bills and anything medical can be shredded after you have made sure that your co-pays and deductible amounts are recorded
properly. Ideally, you should keep this information until the beginning of a new year. All that junk mail that you get with pre-approved credit
card and personal loan offers should always be shredded. Small business owners should check with their tax professional to determine how long
to keep various business-related records.
Rainbow Accounting Services, LLC, owned by Melissa and Rue Bowman, is located at 8917 N. St. Rt. 121, four miles south of Versailles.
With an Enrolled Agent on staff who is federally authorized to prepare tax returns and represent taxpayers, the business specializes in Income
Tax Preparation, small business bookkeeping, and personal finances.

Grace Brethren Village is proud to announce that they have been selected as one of the 2017 Best of Senior Living Award Winners on SeniorAdvisor.com, the largest ratings and review site for senior care and
services in North America.
SeniorAdvisor.coms Best of 2017 Award winners represent the best
of in-home care, assisted living, and senior living providers, based on

for this honor. Of nearly 200,000 communities currently listed on SeniorAdvisor.com, just 1,400 were recognized with this prestigious
award.
Grace Brethren Village is one of the only winners in Englewood,

one: My sister, brother and I, and our families wish to thank you.

great care, said Eric Seifert, president of SeniorAdvisor.com. Our SeniorAdvisor.com Awards program is all about celebrating the exceptional people who do just that. Were honored to spread the word about
these organizations whom families can entrust with the care of their senior loved ones.
