This is Venkatesh Bharadwaj.S from AIESEC in NIT Trichy. We would like to form an association between
TRUWDES and AIESEC in NIT Trichy, as part of an NGO Drive which is set to take place this February.
About AIESEC
AIESEC is the world's largest youth-run organisation. It is spread over 120+ countries and 8000+ universities with
a membership count of over 100,000 people. Standing as the Youth Representation in the United Nations,
AIESEC has established its stronghold around the world with NIT Trichy being its 27th bastion in India. Some of
the alumni of AIESEC include Bill Gates, Kofi Annan, Ratan Tata who have derived as well as given back equally
to the organisation.
AIESEC provides the ideal platform for leadership development and enables students to go on cross-cultural
exchange programs to work on either social or technical projects. AIESEC in NITT was started in September
2015 and over the last one year, we have sent 9 students to 5 different countries to work on projects ranging from
educational to the environmental sector.
We have also conducted events in NIT Trichy as well as other colleges in Trichy. In the last event that we
conducted, more than 1000 students were present. Our motto is to achieve peace and fulfilment of humankind's
potential.
About the Drive
The drive which is to be conducted by AIESEC in NIT Trichy is for students from all over Trichy to work with the
NGOs. The NGO drive is a golden opportunity to gain volunteering experience as well as the immense
satisfaction of having impacted so many lives. Students will undergo a 2-week social internship at your NGO
where they will be working on a certain project of your choice. The project can pertain to any one of the
following topics:
1) Education
2) Environmental project
3) Entrepreneurship
4) Marketing
5) Social issues
We would like to know the projects that you would like to offer to the students. For example, if you would like to
sell the products made by the inmates in your home, you could assign that as a project in Marketing. We would
be glad if you could offer projects in the topics mentioned above. If at all you wish to organize an awareness
campaign to emphasize the importance of old age people, you could categorize that as a project pertaining to the
topic, Social Issues.
This is an excellent opportunity for you to interact with the student community and educate them with a sense of
social responsibility and instil altruist ideals into them.
What are we providing?
1. A diverse volunteer base given the cultural diversity of NIT Trichy and an opportunity to work with international
volunteers through AIESEC in NIT Trichy's Incoming global volunteer program (IGV program).
2. A great chance to network with the youth of Trichy, to instil a sense of social conscience for the greater good of
tomorrow.
3. NITT, being one of the premier engineering institutes of the country enjoys a diverse and widespread
popularity. With the recent advent of visual media to portray engineering colleges, the mass appeal and curiosity
have increased manifold i.e. gaining media attention for the NGO.
What would we like you to do?
1. Give us an opportunity to serve you and create a change in the lives of many people.
2. Provide certification from the NGO for the volunteers who take part in the initiative.
3. Provide transport for the students from NIT Trichy.
4. Provide food and accommodation for the international volunteers who will take part in the drive.
