Overview & Purpose:
Students will learn more about the scholarship
application process and how to avoid scholarship
scams. They will then spend time, in class,
researching and applying for various external
scholarships that they qualify for. All students will be
required to submit 2 scholarship applications by Dec.
20 for a grade. On Wednesday, students will
participate in a financial literacy/awareness workshop
with Mark Thut. Mark and his team have developed a
lesson to help students start to think about being
financially responsible in college and how to create a
budget. Finally, students will review current college
syllabi as a class. We will talk about how college and
high school syllabi differ and look at important, key
areas of college syllabi. In this lesson students will be
