It is often necessary to make

decisions without consulting
others due to time pressures
upon the task at hand.
Teams operate best within a
clear and structured framework
of procedures.
The best decision will be the one
with the largest consensus.
People will come up with the best
working methods when given
minimal instruction.
Friends repeatedly come to me
for advice and support, and I
generously give it.
Friends have learnt to not
question my judgement, as I
rarely back down when I am truly
passionate about something.
If everyone is forced to perform
the same task in the same way.
The efficiencies gained outweigh
the costs.
I receive friends approval before
making changes in my life.
I have learnt that people will
never fail to positively surprise
you if you leave them alone.
I consult a variety of people
when making decisions, but they
tend to agree with my original
idea anyway.

Half of people are intrinsically

hard working, but the other half
need to be pushed into
completing work to a high
enough standard.
Over time, we can continue to
build upon and add to ways of
doing things, which will make life
easier.
Friends constantly challenge my
ideas and strategies because
they know they are welcome
when they do so.
I can say with 100% conviction
that I do not micromanage.
People see me as a leader, not a
manager.
Leadership is about making the
right decisions, at the right time,
and ensuring the workforce
follow through with that decision
with effectiveness.
Cost savings can be made if
everybody does exactly what
theyre told, and dont try to
over-engineer solutions.
I try to delegate as many tasks
as possible in their complete
entirety.
I let friends get back to me when
they decide to, rather than
getting in touch myself.
I feel responsible for my friends,
and I look after them accordingly.

strengths and weaknesses your leadership style has, and how you can work to overcome any
disadvantages of a particular style.

Go to http://www.kent.ac.uk/careers/sk/leadership.htm and take the online leadership

quiz. Find out what kind of leadership style you have.
In two to three paragraphs discuss your leadership style and whether you agree or disagree with
the findings of both tests. ( What kind of leader are you if any?)

When I took the first test, it said that I had a bureaucratic leadership style. I kind of agree with
the results because I like to have rules that I can follow or give people rules so that they know
exactly what to do and dont get confused. I also like to be the boss because I can get to have all
the say, I get to do what I want and the way I want things to be done. In bureaucratic
leaderships, a person is only responsible for 1 section of the job and I like that idea because then
I dont have to know everything. I just have to know 1 part of the job/duty.
In the second test my results were a bit different from the other test because I got 2 answers for
my leadership skills. The test told me that I was Authoritarian and Transformational which
doesnt make sense to me because they are totally different. After looking at both
characteristics I agree with the Transformational result more. I dont think that Im an
Authoritarian leader because I dont like to be the boss. Instead I like to follow other peoples
rules. I also dont like to control other peoples actions.
I think I am a Transformational leader because I listen to other peoples ideas and opinions. I
dont want to just boss them around and make them do things my way. Instead I want their
opinion and if they have a better way of doing things that would be ok. I like to be open-minded. I
also want the people who I am leading to like me and feel comfortable talking to me. I dont want
them to be scared of me.

my 2 leadership styles are

authoritarian and transformational
