Meet Information
Welcome to the SPIRE Carnegie Mellon Division lll Invitational Indoor Track & Field. Over 300 NAIA and NCAA
national qualifying performances were posted last year at SPIRE, and we look forward to breaking many more in
2017.
Important Dates:
Entries and Fees:
Team Fee: $ 325 per gender (16 or more on a team)
Individual Fee: $20 per person
This is an entry fee not a competition fee. There are no refunds for non-accepted entries (due to field size limits
or not meeting the entry standards), scratches or no-show athletes.
Entries: Entries will be made on Direct Athletics.
Payment - All payments can be made the day of the event.
If paying by Credit Card, payment may be made at the registration table.
If paying by Check, please make payable to SPIRE Institute.
Declarations and Check-In:
o Declarations:
Coaches and athletes must declare their events upon arrival. If you do not declare athletes, they will be
scratched from the event. Depending on field size, some events may be declared throughout the day.
Announcements will be made. Please look for notices and times. Declaration table can be found next to the
registration/packet pick up.
o Check-In:
Track Events will check-in with the clerk at the North end of the track. Athletes must check-in with the
clerks 30 minutes prior to the start of the race. If athletes do not check-in with the clerk, they will be
scratched from the event. Field Event athletes will check-in at their event. .
Practice Times:
o The track will be available for practice during designated times. Please see page 4 in the schedule of events for
details.
Warm-Up Field:
o Athletes may warm-up on the track prior to the start of the meet. Once the meet begins, athletes may use the back
stretch of the track and/or the extra high jump apron. Warm-ups may only take place on the infield if the athlete is
getting ready for the next race. Additional warm-ups may be made in the corridors. Absolutely no campsites on
the infield.

o Fully Automatic Timing will be provided by Lightning Timing. Live results will be available online at
www.lightningtiming.com .
o Make sure to refresh your browser to get the most up-to-date results.
Implement Weigh-Ins:
o Saturday 8:15 am to 10:15 am.
o Implement weigh-in can be found at the North end of the track next to the high jump pits.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Hotels:
o Please note; SPIRE Institute is a Stay to Play venue. This means, if your team plans to stay overnight, we ask
that you make reservations in one of our partner hotels. This policy was put into effect to study the economic
growth on the host city. You can find a list of Partner Hotels at www.spireinstitute.org/travel/hotel-partners
Locker Rooms:
o There are locker rooms with full shower facilities available for athletes. Towels and locks must be provided by
athletes.
Outside Food/Beverage: OUTSIDE FOOD AND BEVERAGE ARE PROHIBITED AT SPIRE INSTITUTE.
o SPIRE operates a full service cafeteria in FUEL and the concessions will be available during the event. Note:
Athletes are allowed to bring bottled water, sports drinks, and a small snack, permitted they are brought in each
athletes separate bag. Please no coolers or bags of food.
o SPIRE Banquets also offer pre-ordered meals to be served in the Banquet Center above the Track Venue. To
order meals go to:
Parking:
o Bus & Team Parking will be available free of charge on the north side of the Track Facility. Please see page 12
for the facility parking map.
Participant Seating:
o Athletes are permitted to sit in the lower bleacher sections of the spectators seating. Teams are asked to save the
red captains chairs for spectators!
Pole Shipping:
o Please ship all poles to SPIRE Institute / Attn. Christine Stancliff / 5201 SPIRE Circle / Geneva, OH 44041
Spectator Seating:
o Only spectators with tickets are permitted to be seated in the red captains chairs at the top of the spectator seating.
Tickets:
o Adults $10,
o Students, seniors, and retired military (with ID) $5
o Active Military (with ID) and Children under 6 Free.
Trainer:
o SPIRE will provide a certified athletic trainer, who will be stationed near the finish line. If your institution is not
bringing a training staff and would like to make arrangements, please contact the meet manager by January 1st,
2017. Also, if a certified trainer will not be traveling with your team, please bring an authorization for modality form
from your Certified Athletic Trainer or team physician.
o All other trainers may set up near the finish line. Please allow only athletes that need to utilize the trainers. This
area also has access to the pole vault runways and finish line.
o Each participating team should provide its own taping supplies.
Training Facilities / Amenities:
o Ice will be available during the course of the meet in the training area, south of the Finish Line. Call ahead to
request any additional modalities needed for your athletes.

SPIRE Performance Usage: The following highlights the time, and availability of SPIRE Performance facility for teams to utilize during track meets.
SPIRE Performance will still have training for their athletes during these meets and the hours and availability will be adjusted to allow this. Coaches
need to contact John Wallace, SPIRE Performance director, for facility usage (number of athletes/days and times). A coach needs to be in attendance
with their athletes for supervision.

VIII.SPIRE Fit
SPIRE Fit, SPIREs on-site health and wellness center, is available for athlete and spectator use over the course of the
weekend. SPIRE Fit offers a variety of family, individual, senior and short term memberships for those who desire a "best in
class" workout environment. Health, wellness and exercise are at the center of the SPIRE vision and SPIRE Fit promotes
the values of these components for all of our members
SPIRE Fit features the latest equipment from some of the finest brands in exercise equipment it including: Jacobs Ladder,
CYBEX, Life Fitness, Keiser, Marpo Kinetics and more. ADA compliant equipment is also available. Group exercise classes
are also available.
