Comments: Your use of learning targets is consistent and effective. Students


always know what they are expected to do. Finding opportunities to connect
learning to the real world would help to take your practice to the next level.

Comments: You have high expectations for student learning and students live
up to your expectations.Their engagement in their own learning, and ownership,
are impressive. Your questioning techniques developed this year as you focused
on asking questions that draw our the student's thought process rather than the
answer. You also have students defend their thinking with classmates.
3.CP. Curriculum & Pedagogy

Comments: Your comfort level with curriculum developed this year. Your own
content knowledge is strong and this results in you being more effective in
engaging students and in asking discipline specific questions to clarify their
understanding. You implemented RAISE strategies this year which increased the
types and effectiveness of scaffolds to support students. The students responded
favorably to the strategies.

Comments: You use a variety of strategies for formative assessment. Students


frequently give feedback to you as well as use strategies to self-assess. Your use
of the Take Away board was a great way to have students give you frequent
feedback. You use feedback to determine misunderstandings and areas where
students may need reteaching or just need to pay closer attention.

Comments: Your classroom environment is calm, focused on learning, and


professional in nature. Students know when they are in class, there are high
expectations for them. You have developed strong routines that are followed
consistently. The inclusion of some of the RAISE strategies has improved your
use of discussion and collaboration among the students. They are focused and
productive in their discussions.

Comments: You have been a great contributor to the 4,5,6 instructional team.
The team has worked together to look at student learning as well as consistency
in instructional approaches where appropriate. You speak up when needed but
are also happy to go with the flow. Your professionalism is consistent and
focused on students.

Evaluation Comments:
You had a great year! Your impressive intuition as a teacher started off strong
and has only developed. You are one of the most naturally gifted teachers I
have met, and I am so appreciative that our students are the beneficiaries of
your talents.
