1. What education did Anna-Marie complete to get to her present job? She began her
career by taking a 42-week course called Woman in Metal Machining. Next, she went to
collage to complete a certificate in CAD/CAM.
2. What did Anna-Marie do in order to complete her apprenticeship as a mechanical
draftsperson? In order to be a mechanical draftsperson, Anna-Marie completed
apprenticeship course, including hours of on-the-job practice.

1. How did Kevin get into the robotics industry? He graduated with a University degree in
mathematics. He started programming computers four years ago. At his first job, he mainly
created business application software for Windows operating systems. He then took a job at a
company that worked with industrial machines used mainly in factories.

University of Windsor with a degree in communications, Adam began his career in the video
game industry as a tester for a company called Gray Matter.
4. What type of training or courses should you consider if you want to work in the
video game industry? You should consider taking some design or animations courses and if
youre an animator or a designer, you may want to take a programming course.

1. List five of many tasks that Shirley has to perform in her daily job as Senior
Secretary at Barrie Central Colligate. As senior secretary, Shirley is involved in virtually
every aspect of school life, from answering calls from parents/caregivers to working with
teachers and support personnel to keep the school running efficiently. She supervises the office
team, making sure all deadlines are met. She is an incredible resource person for everyone
teachers, custodians, community groups, administration, and students. Parents/caregivers and
school board personnel. On top of that, Shirley is responsible for the principals
correspondence, report for submission to the board, newsletter to parents/caregivers, memos
outlining all the procedures for staff to follow for examinations and report cards. Shirley uses a
variety of other electronic communication devices in her daily routine including the telephone,
fax machine, voice mail, e-mail, and automated phone programs to let parents/caregivers
know when students are not in class.

2. Describe the software application program Lesly uses in administrating the Eat
Smart program. Lesley inputs all the information about the restaurant into a database. Next,
she updates the Eat Smart web site with the data information so that people can see the
results. She uses special software to preform nutrient analysis that lets her clients know the
amount of calories and nutrients in the food they eat. They software also analyzes recipes and
allows Lesley to help clients find alternative ingredients that would allow them to eat the same
kinds of food, while improving their level of nutrition.

is a desktop PC.

a scanner to make quick additions to the school website.

1. What is the purpose of a Web-Enabled Data Warehouse? It is a database that is
accessible on the World Wide Web. Securely warehousing information is not enough these
days. The data, or some of it, needs to be available to other business partners, instantly or any
time, to facilitate e-commerce.

Jenna has seen a remarkable change in the way she does work. Because of the power of computing,
she works from home a lot more. She can take on more tasks because she can do more than one thing
at the same time. For example, she can teach the University, work for the government, do contract
work for non-governmental agencies in Montreal and Spain, research at five different online libraries
and contact researchers in New York.

is able to gather information quickly from authoritative Web sites, as well as explore a topic in
search of new information or background material. He stays in contact with clients and other
researchers by e-mail, using its capabilities to the fullest. He uses the Web as a gateway to a
number of freebased commercial databases that provide accurate and detailed information on a
variety of business topics.

1. What are some of the skills a police officer needs to investigate cybercrimes? One of
the branchs primary functions is to use imaging technology to take hard copy document,
convert them to digital information, and organize the information for investigators to use.
2. Is data that you delete from your hard drive really gone? What evidence do you
have from this profile to lead you to believe one way or another? The data that you
delete form your hard drive is not actually deleted, it is stored so certain people can access it
at any time. I believe it is not actually deleted because taking into consideration how far
technology has come, anything is possible and the amount of storage, things dont delete for
good, and certain people have ways of accessing it.
