The means of social communication

Introduction
by the study of this valuable item, will be considering some questions, which we will study briefly, among which we can
point; what are the media?, we will look at some of them, such as; press, radio, television and the Internet, we will briefly
discuss their functions, Importance, influences and political consequences, social, cultural, and economic.
We will also address the issue referred to the history of the media in Venezuela, its legal developments and hegemonic
groups of the mass media in Venezuela.
What are the means of communication?
With the term means of communication (from the Latin medius), reference is made to the instrument or form of content
by which it is carried out the process of communications or communication.
It is usually used the term to refer to the mass media (MCM, mass media or mass media); however, other means of
communication such as the telephone, are not massive but interpersonal.
Press
the concept written press refers to printed publications that differ according to their frequency. This frequency may be
daily (in which case is usually called daily, or more commonly newspaper) weekly (weekly or monthly magazine) (case of
many specialized journals) or yearly (Yearbook).
There are since the introduction of the printing press, being the first means of communication of the masses and the
original vehicle of journalism. Even though the information is its more prominent role, the periodical press possesses, as
all means of communication, the functions to inform, persuade, promote, Form view, educate and entertain (usually
records in the triad inform, educate and entertain).
RADIO
radio is a technology that enables the transmission of signals by modulation of electromagnetic waves. By its scope was
electromagnetic much easier to reach distant places. Correspond to the type of sound. It is a "single-audio" that is
currently in the process of recovering its popularity.
The radio communication is technology that enables the transmission of signals by modulation (its frequency or
amplitude) of electromagnetic waves. These waves do not require a physical means of transportation, so it can spread
both through the air as the empty space.
Television
The word "TV" is a hybrid of the greek voice "Tele" (distance) and the Latin 'Visio' (vision). The term television refers to all
aspects of transmission and programming, that seeks to entertain and inform the viewer with a great diversity of
programs. The television links that the population number of announcements uses to keep informed of all the events.
The television is a system for the transmission and reception of moving images and sound at a distance that uses a
mechanism of dissemination, the transmission can be carried out using radio waves, by cable television networks,
satellite tv or IPTV. The receiver of the signals is the TV.
INTERNET
The Internet is a method of interconnection of networks of computers deployed in a set of protocols called
TCP/IP&Nbsp;and ensures that heterogeneous physical networks operate as a network (logical) only.
Its presence throughout the world has made the Internet a mass medium, where each one can learn about various topics
in the digital editions of the newspapers, or write according to their ideas in blogs and fotologs or upload audio-visual
material as well as in the popular YouTube site.
One of the most successful services has had on the Internet has been the World Wide Web (WWW, or "the Web"), to
such an extent that it is usual to the confusion between the two terms. The WWW is a set of protocols that allows, in a
simple way, the remote consultation of dehipertexto files. This was a later development (1990) and uses the Internet as a
transmission medium.
Functions and importance of the media
The main purpose of the media is, precisely, communicate, but according to their type of ideology may specialize in;
inform, educate, transmit, entertain, Form view, teach, check, etc.
Positive.
The positive features of the media reside in that enable extensive contents of information reach extended places on the
planet in an immediate manner. The media, in the same way, make it possible for many personal relationships to stay
together, or at least not completely disappear.
Negative.
The negative characteristics fall in the handling of information and the use of the same for their own interests of a
specific group. In many cases, tends to form stereotypes, followed by many people thanks to the extent that acquires the
message in its dissemination (as happens when you generalize people or groups).
