1 STARTING UP
The application is packaged in the DVD/USB flash drive. It would contain a folder with a setup file
for the application. In case the application does not run automatically, the user must run the setup
by double clicking on it.

This will initiate the installation process for the application. The process would include running a
background check of the availability of flash player and the .NET framework. If these are not
available on the system, the installation process would also include initiating the installation of the
same. Once the pre-requisites for running the application are confirmed, the application will be
launched.
The screen which comes up as the application launches is shown below. This is the login screen.

The user must click on the help button provided on the top right corner. This will open the user
manual for reference. Minimize and close buttons have their usual purpose.
The user can enter the login details; a valid user id and password, if these have already been
created. In case, the user has logged in for the first time, he/she needs to register himself/herself
and create the user id and password.
To register, the user needs to click on Create new user.

After entering the details in the form, the user must click on Submit. If all the details have been
entered, the user will be created successfully by the application, after accepting the license
agreement terms. Consequently, a message will be displayed, as shown below.

The user must click on OK. This will direct the user to the login page of the application, where the
recently created User ID and password will be used to login.

After entering the details, the user must click on Login. With this, the user is ready to take the
training ECDIS FMD-3100 FMD-3200/3300 and start reading the tutorials.

Tutorial
The text box is movable and can be minimized too. The text box can be moved by clicking and
dragging it to the desired location. To minimize the text box, the user can click on the minimize
button provided on the top right corner of the text box.
The minimized text box is shown in the image below.

2.1 TUTORIAL
A tutorial can be played by clicking on the corresponding name in the tree structure.

The user can see the tree structure of the contents of training, including the groups; with each group
containing a number of chapters, each chapter containing a number of sections and each section
having various contents. Each content is a topic, corresponding to which there is a tutorial which can
be played by the user.
When the tutorial is being played, the user sees a text box, which contains a textual description
regarding the tutorial. Also, in order to navigate through the tutorial, certain buttons are provided.
The controls available are as follows:
Replay button: This button is used to replay the tutorial from start.
Previous button: This button is used to go to the previous animation in the tutorial.
Next button: This button is used to go to the next animation in the tutorial.
Close button: This button is available only when the user reaches at the end of the
tutorial. It is used to close the tutorial and consequently unlock the next tutorial.
2.2 HELP
To aid the training course, the user has been provided with the Help button. This button is
available on the top right corner of the application and is being denoted by a question mark - ?
(Refer image below). The user can click on this button at any time of the training.

Clicking on this button will present the screen as shown below. Besides the user manual, there are
other documents which are available during the training.
Clicking on Documents available during training will open another window, as shown below. This
is the list of documents available. To open a document, the user must click on the same.
To open the user manual for the training application, the user must click on ECDIS FMD-3100
FMD-3200/3300 CBT User Manual.
Close and Back buttons are provided on the windows to close and go back to the previous
screen, respectively.

The user must enter the license key available for the course. To get the key validated, the user
must click on Go. If the key is valid, a new window opens, where the ship owner details need to
be added.

2.5 PAUSE
This button has been provided to pause or freeze the application. Clicking on this button will pause
a running animation, disable any other control on the tutorial and will not allow any selection from
the tree structure.
2.6 EXIT
To exit the application, the user can click on this button.

2. This will initiate the application and display the following window.
The user must enter the User Name and Password and click on Diagnose. This will
generate a report with training session details.

3. After the report has been generated, it needs to be sent to the administrator for analysis.
This will be emailed to the administrator once the user clicks on Send Report and
confirms to send an email. In case, the user doesnt wish to proceed, he may click on
Cancel.

4. A message will be displayed after the email has been sent successfully.
