Inferences from Ted Elgams Video

The following are some of my inferences from the video

While seeing the video it was obvious that in spite of huge noise out
there a small order by the conductor(leader) changes noise into
music.
A concert is an interweaving of stories about the conductors ,
musician, orchestra, audiences Though a conductor is not the one
who does the actual work but leads or conducts or guides the entire
orchestra towards a fruitful outcome and a leadership too should
follow the lines of that. Even during work when a person was able to
happy people doubted how he is able to be happy. But thats not
only because of him alone and since he involves various participants
.
A leader should just create a path for the sub ordinates and
followers to follow and guide them and should not interfere with
them in that path .As a leader he should give space for subordinates to carry on their work in their own style by giving them
autonomy which may enhance the productivity.
He should never use them only as a tool to complete the task which
would be of any benefit to the employee and instead employees
should use them in their own ways.
Certain leaders are very clear that giving their sub - ordinated
orders would confine them only to those orders and prevents them
from think out of that and which is against the concept of novelty.
And these Leading style becomes more important in crisis situations
where we allow our sub-ordintes to think autonomously without
putting pressure on them. Authority or position alone doesnt help
you in giving them proper space
Ultimately leadership is not a zero sum game where one gains at
the expense of another leader should create a win-win situation for
all.

Inferences from The Leadership Point of

View(LPV) Article
The following are some of my inferences from LPV Article :
I had a notion that people in top positions in hierarchy can be acting
as effective leaders as they have the power in hand and all other
sub-ordinates in lower hierarchy has to follow their orders.I learnt
that power may be an added advantage but not mandatory for a
leader.
I also thought all people in top hierarchies are very good leaders
and that is also not completely true. There are some leaders who are
not so effective compared to leaders who are not vested with any
power in their hands
Also had a view that if and only if a person is in top position in an
organization can take initiatives as taking initiatives also has
nothing to do only with leadership.I Got to know about the elements
to be done from leadership point of view which I have never come
across.
One need not be in a management position to be a leader, leaders
are found throughout all levels in an organization. Leadership is
about getting people to understand and believe in your vision and to
work with you to achieve your goals

A leader should know where he is are, where he wants to go and

enroll the enitre team in charting a path for the future by
articulating his views in an effective manner
I was of the view that people in top positions can only effectively
make decisions as they are the persons who have all the information
in hand but this also has been disproved due to the technological
innovations and access to all sorts of information that aids in
decentralization
