Dear Parents/Guardians,
Welcome back to another school year!!! Im very glad to see all returning and new students back
here and hope it will be another fantastic year. This letter is to inform you about the new format for report
cards this year. Over the past years, we have received some negative feedback about previous report
cards and how it was very difficult and complicated to understand. So, we have come up with a new and
improved format. Parents and students will be able to view their marks from each course easily and it is
very straight forward. In addition, we have also added the students average at the bottom of the page.
This will make it easier to see if your child has made it to honour roll (See sample report card below). I
hope this will be very easy to understand and comprehend for everyone and will help improve the
previous report cards from the past.

The following is a reminder of important dates we have coming up soon:

1. October 5th is Honour Roll night. Please come out as we acknowledge students for their
academic excellences from the previous school year. It begins at 6:30 and continues until 8:00.
2. October 20th is Parent/Teacher Interview night. It begins at 7:00 and continues until 9:00. We
hope to see as many parents as possible attend this night.
3. October 21st is a Professional Activity Day and students will not be attending school this day.
Classes will resume on October 24.
4. November 2nd is Take Your Kid to Work Day. Grade 9 students will have the chance to travel
with their parents or guardians to work and experience a day in the workplace.
5. December 15th is the annual Christmas Concert. Even though this may seem like a long time
from now, save the date. Many students have been working hard to make this a memorable night
for everyone.

There are a lot of exciting events coming up in the school year as you can see from above. I
would ask that you try your very best to come out and support the school community by attending some
of these events. The school community does not just consist of only the students and staff, but also the
parents and guardians. So, lets come together as one and unite as one strong community. I hope to see
you at these upcoming events for our school.

Sincerely,

Brad Rodrigues
