CATHOLIC YOUNG ADULT ASSOCIATION (CYAA) MEETING

The Catholic Young Adult Association (CYAA) meeting which was held on the 11th of September
2016 in the immunization room under Rev Fr. Fitzgerald hall, Mushin.
OPENING PRAYER: The Meeting began with prayer led by Bro Omoajayi John at 9:03am.
OPENING REMARK: The President, Bro Omoajayi John welcomed everyone present at the
meeting.
MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING: This was read by Sis Benedicta Bernard and
corrections were dully observed;
Wrong Spelling of names, omissions
Bro Michael Obiano said he only said Rev Fr. Approved the End of the month program
and not vigil.
ADOPTION OF PREVIOUS MINUTE: The Minute was adopted by Bro Raymond Ugbomma
and seconded by Sis Oluchi.
APOLOGY: This was noted for the secretary Sis MaryAnn Okonkwo
MATTERS ARISING
CYAA UNIFORM: The President Bro Omoajayi John said the uniform is still in progress for
members to purchase. He also noted that the uniforms would be used as dress code for the
feast day celebration.
FINANCE: Sis Evelyn obi advised members to bring along with them the harvest and monthly
dues to the feast day as there wont be meeting in the parish. She also noted that out of the
N36,500 realized from the auction sales, the money for the items would be removed.
FEAST DAY: The President Bro Omoajayi John said members should bring along gifts for the
occasion and this would be given to the Old peoples home on the 6th of October 2016.
SINGLES DAY WITH THE ARCHBISHOP: The President Bro Omoajayi John said the program
has come and gone but he was disappointed none of our members came for the event that
even the ADC spoke to him angrily due to that fact which made him unhappy.
ADULT EDUCATION COMMITTEE: The President Bro Omoajayi John said the program is in
progress and he appreciated the teachers for their support towards its success. Names of the
teachers were mentioned for proper recognition. He also emphasized on the need for materials,
finances and importantly presence from members to the lecture hall.
AUCTION SALES: The auction sales started with prayers said by Bro Chibuzor Eze and the
President Bro Omoajayi John opening the floor by unveiling the items for the auction followed by
members.Sis Fidelia Ukeje and Sis Precious assisted with the items.Bro Collins Abejagah asked
for clarifications on how the auction sales would be done and it was indicated that the highest
bidder would take home whatever was bided for. N36,500 was total sum realized for the sales.
MEMBERSHIP DRIVE: The President Bro Omoajayi John said we need more members and he
implored everyone to carry out work of recruitment.

ADC REPORT: The President Bro Omoajayi John said we are to pay N5000 to ADC and a
N1000 for registration as CYAA members for proper recognition. He also stated that N50,000 is
required for the feast day and advised the EXCOs to attend ADC meetings.
SPIRITUAL COMMITTEE REPORT: The President Bro Omoajayi John said he has met with the
parish priest and that Adoration would be every Saturday, while every last Fridays would be the
vigil. He also assured members that the Parish Priest has promised to set up committee that
would handle the program.Bro Michael Obiano was asked to update on the last vigil held, but he
insisted that members present at the vigil should give the report rather.Sis Oluchi said the vigil
was wonderful and spiritually uplifting and that though rain fell, she believes it was Gods
blessings to those present.Bro Michael Obiano also stated that those that couldnt make it has
another opportunity and members should actively participate.Bro Omoajayi John concluded that
Gods blessings is not meant for one person but each and every member as this is our own
program.
GENERAL: The President Bro Omoajayi John reminded members of the activities slated before
the feast day celebration i.e. The Annual Lecture on 8 th October 2016 at St Annes Itire by 9am
that they should be in attendance as we are expected to leave from our Church premises. He
also stated that not more than 30 members are expected to attend the feast day celebration at
St Anthony Gbaja.Bro Chukwudi Ndubuisi asked about transportation arrangement and He said
he would liaise with the Parish Priest for the bus.Sis Fidelia Ukeje suggested that text messages
be sent to members as form of reminder for the feast day event.
Bro Francis talked about indecent dressing, that it should be prohibited in the meeting.Sis
Chidinma was allowed to advertise her products, which the resident Bro Omoajayi John
encouraged members to patronize members product/sales
INTRODUCTION OF NEW MEMBERS: Three new members were introduced in persons of;

They were welcomed and members born in the month of September were called to come
forward for prayers and felicitation.
ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned.
CLOSING PRAYER: The meeting came to an end with a closing prayer said by Bro Henry
Nduka at 1:15pm.
