2017 WTSA STATE CONFERENCE

COMPETITIVE EVENT INFORMATION


Registration Deadline: Feb. 8, 2017

Payment Instructions:

Registration Fee:
Your registration fee is inclusive. It includes the conference and
competition fees, hotel room, Thursday Dinner, all meals Friday,
Saturday breakfast and lunch, entertainment, and TSA polo shirt.
Student: $285
Advisor (Shared Room): $375
Advisor (Single Room): $475
Chaperones willing to judge will receive a $75 discount from
Advisor rates

Payment IN FULL must accompany all registration.


Payment may be in the form of check or purchase order.
Credit Card payments are accepted. To pay by credit card,
please indicate this on your registration. We will then send
you an online invoice, via email, to pay.
If using a purchase order, the scanned copy or the original
signed purchase order must be received within 48 hours of
registering online.
Full payment of POs is requested by the conference date.

Late Registration:

Cancellations/ No Shows:

Registrations received after 5:00 pm on February 8th will be


considered late. Those registering late will not be allowed to
enter events that no one had previously registered for. They will
pay an additional $50 fee with their registration.
Late registration closes February 15th.

Cancellations received in writing prior to February 8th will not be


charged a fee. Cancellations received in writing between
February 9th - 15th will be charged $50. No Shows and
cancellations received after February 15th will be charged the full
registration fee. There is NO refund for no shows or
cancellations after February 15th. $100 PO Cancellation (per
person), $50 NSF/CC Decline Fee.

Registration Process:
We will be utilizing the WTSA Online Registration System.
Chapter advisors will enter their chapter info, participant
information, and signup for events using our online system.
Here is an overview of the process:
Go to http://www.washingtontsa.org/state-conference and
use the links for Advisor/Student registration. It is separated
by middle and high school.
Follow the instructions to register for the conference. You will
need to know the names of all those attending, what
individual events they will be entering, who will be on teams
for team events, and your payment method
Scan and email a copy of all purchase orders and checks to
jsmith@washingtontsa.org
Mail checks to: Washington TSA; C/O Jennifer Smith, PO Box
1635, Goldendale, WA 98620
Have students and their parents complete the Medical
Release and Code of Conduct. Bring these to the conference.

Competitive Event Signup:


Participants may compete in a maximum of 6 competitive
events.
Only register for events which you believe you will actually
complete by the submission deadline.
Participants must register for each event in which they intend
to compete by the Feb. 8th registration deadline. YOU MAY
NOT ADD EVENTS AFTER THIS DATE.
Any event with no registered participants on Feb. 8th will be
cancelled.
As schools register, they will be asked to indicate which
students will be on which teams. This information may be
changed up to February 15th. NO EVENT OR TEAM CHANGES
WILL BE ALLOWED AFTER February 15th.

Participant Eligibility:
Each TSA member must meet the criteria listed below to be
eligible to attend the state conference.
Be a current member (dues paid) in a currently affiliated TSA
chapter.
Membership must be on record with National TSA.
Have the approval of the TSA chapter and/or state advisor and
the school administration.
Have the written approval of a parent/guardian in the form of
a completed Personal Liability and Medical Release form.
Be in attendance throughout the duration of the conference.

Advisor/Chaperone to Student Ratio


Washington TSA and the Yakima Convention Center require a
maximum student to advisor ratio of 10 students per advisor/
chaperone.
In addition, chapters should have 1 advisor per gender of
students they are bringing.
Advisors and Chaperones are responsible for their students at
all times during the conference.
Further, advisors will be required to supervise a competitive
event at the competition.
All adults, including parents attending to view a competitive
event, must register for the conference and purchase an
Observer Pass.
No student may attend, compete, or participate without
physical presence of an adult chaperone throughout the
duration of the conference.
