    CARITAS

    Caritas Internationalis is funded and owned by the Catholic Church which brings
    together 165 national aid organizations, development and social service
    charitable and humanitarian confederation.
    The first Caritas was founded in 1897 in the German city of Cologne by the
    priest Lorenz Werthmann. Caritas Internationalis is established in 1951 first as
    Caritas International Conference in 1954 adopted the name Caritas
    Internationalis with headquarters in Rome.
    Caritas is dedicated to combating poverty, exclusion, intolerance and
    discrimination.
