intentionally placed
Bucharest, Jan 22 /Agerpres/ - Attorney Catalin Dancu, representing the owners of the
Bamboo Club, stated on Sunday, at the Bucharest Police headquarters, that the data they have at this
moment confirms that the fire was intentionally placed.
"I have explained the position of the administrator on how the events took place on that
evening. Prosecutors were also briefed on the protection and evacuation measures taken for the
persons in the club. Our data at this moment, from the existing witnesses, confirms that the fire was
intentionally placed. We will observe and the prosecutors will check the persons in the area of the
former fitness hall of the club. Until 3:00 hrs there were no data. Persons unknown to the club in this
area were identified," said the attorney.
He also mentioned that over 700 persons were in the Bamboo Club at the time of the fire
breaking out and they were evacuated in secure conditions in less than six minutes.

were evacuated in secure conditions, because they all listened to the instructions of the staff," he

have to pay. We will fight to deny this plan, which was set in motion last week, through all means,
both in Parliament, as well as in the street. We will sign the no-confidence motion of the PNL, if it is
initiated, and we will fight so that the simple motion of the USR against [Justice] Minister Florin
Iordache, be adopted in Parliament," Nicusor Dan mentioned, in a Facebook post.
According to him, all forces of the opposition and society are necessary to stop the PSD plan.
"We will see you today in University Square," the USR leader added.
The National Liberal Party (PNL) is considering whether to submit a no-confidence motion
and talks in this sense will take place on Thursday in the party, the ad-interim chair of the formation,
Raluca Turcan said.
"We will discuss the no-confidence motion. This is submitted during the parliamentary
session, next Thursday we will have a meeting and I will propose to colleagues to reflect, to elaborate
a no-confidence motion to defend the rule of law, to defend public interest. (...) I have launched the
invitation to those in the USR to support the no-confidence motion, if PNL will submit it," Raluca

PNL's Turcan: PNL conside ring no-confidence motion

Bucharest, Jan 22 /Agerpres/ - The National Liberal Party (PNL) is considering whether to
submit a no-confidence motion and talks in this sense will take place on Thursday in the party, said
the ad-interim chair of the formation, Raluca Turcan.
According to her, PNL is faced with a cause that is mandatory to defend by those who believe
in the values that form a European society.
"The PSD-ALDE [Social Democrat Party - Alliance of Liberals and Democrats] declared war
on the honest citizens of this country," added the interim chair of the Liberals.
In her opinion, the ordinances regarding pardoning and the amendment of the Criminal Codes
did not have as a purpose resolving the concrete measures in penitentiaries.
"The two ordinance - the one regarding pardoning and the one regarding the amendment of
the Criminal Code - are not about the administrative capacity to resolve the problem in the
penitentiaries. Five barracks if turned into modern detention facilities - the problem would be solved
by a lot. (...) Those in PSD-ALDE are not interested in the real solving of these problems (...), they are
interested only in saving from prisons those who are in their political clientele, those who are part of
the group of privileged persons in this country," she mentioned.
PNL will use all the instruments it has at its disposal to defend this cause of honest
Romanians, Raluca Turcan added, stating furthermore that PNL will also respond positively to the
initiatives made by other political formations that have as a sole purpose the defence of the rule of
law.
In this sense, PNL considers supporting the simple motion against the Justice Minister that the
Save Romania Union (USR) will submit.
Turcan added. AGERPRES

rule of law
Bucharest, Jan 22 /Agerpres/ - President Klaus Iohannis stated that he came to University
Square to show his indignation that "a group of politicians" wants to change legislation and weaken
