Original Title
I am currently a Junior at the university of North Carolina at Charlotte, dual majoring in
accounting and finance. I started my collegiate career at Davenport university, a private business
college in Grand Rapids Michigan, before transferring to UNCC. My freshman year at davenport
went well, although the university only required one general education english/writing course,
which I did complete during my time there. That being said when I transferred to UNCC the fall
semester of my sophomore, my advisor well informed me that I would have to complete an
additional general education english/writing course prior to my graduation.
As I mentioned before I am now a second semester junior at UNCC, and throughout my
time at this university I have taken various writing intensive courses. For instance, Politics and
Culture in Literature, and Philosophy 2102 are two classes that I enjoyed. These classes and
many more in the past have helped my writing style develop and improve. In my politics and lit
class we wrote about many famous novels like, 1984, The Things They Carried, and The Circle.
This aided in further developing my abilities to understand the authors writing styles, beliefs, and
concepts, which allowed me form my own biases to write about and use the novel for properly
supporting my papers. Philosophy helped me write a more logical papers which were based on
strong premises and supporting examples which then lead to the conclusion.

At this point in my colligate career a feel fairly confident in my writing abilities, when I
am focused and given a reasonable amount of time to complete an assignment. Is to continue the
life journey of learning, but specifically in this class to add more value to both my writing and
reading skills, which both could use improvement. Skills like transitioning and revising are both
areas I know, I could use improvement. In addition, procrastination is also an obstacle that can
affect my course assignments as well as anything goals I have.
The sticker I have created is a small collage of images and photos, correspondingly each
carry a significant meaning. The first upper left section represents my goal of self independence.
The top right section is an image of a glacier, the top portion which is above water represents
how common people or society may view an individual, while the bottom portion which goes
unnoticed on the surface, represents all the struggles, challenges, and endeavors one may endure
or fail at. The middle section on the right, represents my pursuit of lifelong travel to new or
unknown areas. The bottom left section represents my life time goal of humility, the photo
reminds me of how small we really are in the world and how one can easily lose sight around
them, when they are following an already carved and traveled trail. The bottom right section of
the sticker is an image of a graduation cap and diploma, which represents one of my current
goals of graduating college.
