What are Forests?

Deforestation is the conversion of forests


in to other uses such as; agriculture,
factories and urban areas. Nowadays, 13
million hectare per year in South America
and Africa and south East Asia is
converted from a forest to an agriculture
land.<1> The destruction of forests can
lead to many long term eects. One of
them is Loss of Biodiversity.

Forests are large areas of land containing


trees, microorganisms, and living
organisms. They consists of numerous
species of organisms and trees. They
covered almost 30% of the planet.

What are the causes of


deforestation?
Basically, it came from the idea of
industrialization and urbanization.
Agriculture and livestock are the major
factors of deforestation. Another cause is
using trees as raw material to construct
and create most of products used today.

What is biodiversity?
The variety of life living in the certain
environment usually in the forests and
seas. Destroying trees can endangered
the species of many animals. More than
80% of all species in the planet are in
forests; many of them are undiscovered.

Why are forests important?


There are many importance of forests, yet
unexpected loss without them. Forests
give you food, shelter, medicine, and the
most important one is oxygen. It also
known as habitat of almost all organisms
in the planet.

The eect of deforestation


Forests always been called as lungs of the
Earth. Without them, can increase rate of
carbon dioxide or green house gases in the
planet, and they can risen the temperature of
the Earth. It can cause climate to change
causing many natural problems such as
floods, and soil erosion.

The Loss of Biodiversity
Deforestation is the main cause of the Loss of
Biodiversity. According to IUCNs Red list
Species Extinction, there are approximately
17,000 species are known to be threatened
with extinction, and there are at least 10,000
species extinct each year.

Deforestation and the Loss of Biodiversity is


not a single person blame. It is everyones
fault that must be solve. Everyone can easily
get in charge of the problems by conserve
them, and think more carefully every time
you are hurting the Earth.
