Lesson Planning Worksheet

Step 1Analyze
ADDIE

1.AWhat are your goals for your lesson?

1. ANALYZE
e. Goals
f. Learners

- For learners to understand the classification system and apply that knowledge when
making recruitment/duties decisions

2. DESIGN
a. Learning
Objectives
b. Outcomes

- Know the difference between Classification and Job Description

- Completing the paperwork to initiate those decisions

- Show forms that need to be filled out for reclassification

- Learn which union covers which positions

3. DEVELOP
a. Facilitation
b. Logistics
4. IMPLEMENT
5. EVALUATE
1.BWhat are the relevant characteristics of your learners that
you will consider?
- All learners are in some type of lead position, either manager or supervisor
- They will eventually one day need to fill out a form to hire a new employee or reclassify an
existing employee

Step 2Design
2.AWhat are your specific learning objectives?
Students will be able to . . .
- Distinguish between classification and job description
- Identify when an applicant needs to be selected from an exam list
- Select the forms that are needed for a reclassification, by participating in a simulation
designed to make sure they know what to do.

2.BHow will you measure if students have achieved these

objectives? What assessment tools and processes will you
use?
- Learners will need to select correct answer to question(s) about classification and job
description
- Question about when to select user from an exam list
- Select forms to not use for a reclassification
- Authentic Assessment will be used to place the learner in a situation where they will
need to complete a justification or reclassification

12

Step 3Develop
3.AWhat instructional strategies will you use?
- A mixture of behaviorism and constructivism. Most of the information in the course will
be presented to the learners as text they will read. There will be examples that follow
the behaviorism theory of learning, these will include having the learner put the process
in the correct order of events. The use of constructivism will come into play at the end of
the course, learners will need to complete a series of tasks that will build upon the
previous tasks..

3.BWhat logistical issues impact your lesson?

- N/A. Course will be an online course so learners can complete at their leisure

13

Step 4Implement
You will be sharing your lesson for feedback.
- Feedback will come in the form of reduced errors when filling out forms. The feedback
will not be immediate
- Will consider placing some type of questionnaire at the end of the course so some type
of feedback can be gathered immediately.

Step 5Evaluate
What feedback did you receive? What would you change
about your plan? What would you need to watch out for
when you implement it?
- Feedback from learners was positive, they thought the module was both informative
and relevant to their immediate position. The fact that this was an asynchronous
learning activity was well received, allowing learner to move at their own pace through
the content.
- Future lessons should use a similar model.
