Engineerium

Rules & Guidelines

I. Starting Off
A. Claiming Territory
1. Before you can begin your Role Play on Engineerium,
you must choose a territory. Each player is allowed to
choose two initial territories, but they must be adjacent
to each other. To claim your two territories (or one, if
you wish) post your claims in the “New Players”
discussion on the alliance wall. Everyone starts with 1
million civilians and 500,000 troops.
B. Choosing your Territory
1. When you choose your territory, you should keep a few
things in mind.
a. Engineerium is a resource-based planet.
Everything you can do requires specific resources.
Look for the resources you want to have as a
nation. We will discuss what resources do later.
b. Consider the strategic position of your territory. Is
it landlocked? Is it near a vital bride? Is it next to a
resource you need but is already claimed? Ask
yourself these questions when choosing.
c. Lastly, look for nations that have already claimed
territory. If you think they will make good allies,
then choose territory (that suits your needs) near
them. If you think they will be a big threat to you,
choose territory away from them (or near them, if
you want to). But remember, outside alliances and
faction are not allowed, so think about whether or
not they are good RP’ers, not what type of
government they are.
C. Before you start, you should continue reading the rest of these
rules and guidelines for a better and more fun time on
Engineerium.
II. A Few Starting Rules
A. The first thing about Engineerium is the name. Why does it
have that name? It is because of the ‘engineering’ feats of the
planet. (For Role Play purposes, the following is made up to
enhance the reason behind some of the rules).
1. The history behind Engineerium is that is was an ancient
planet once inhabited by a now-extinct alien race. The
remnants of the civilization still linger in the bridges
they left behind.
2. The Sea is made not up of water, but by an unknown
acid that melts any kind of steel put in, but it can still
hold certain resources like whales and oil. Therefore,
any kind of navy is obsolete (a.k.a. navy is not allowed).
3. The Air is not entirely safe. The surface has a small thin
level of oxygen and Earth-like atmospheric gases, but
above 50 feet in the air, there is a noxious gas that is
similar to the oceans and melts any planes the enter it.
Therefore, skyscrapers and air force are obsolete (a.k.a.
air force is not allowed)
B. Now that you know navies and air forces are not allowed, and
before you freak out, I will tell you why. It is because when I
designed this map, I thought it would be very interesting to see
how people react when all they have are troops and tanks. This
encourages better and more eccentric RP’ing and a more fun
game. I hope you like it too.
C. Subsequent to the last statement, any use of air force or navy
will be voided and consequences will be given (possible
ejection) for consistent use.
D. This next rule should be a given, but I will say it anyway.
ANY GOD-MODING WILL RESULT IN
IMMEDIATE EJECTION!!! You guys should know
this by now, as most of you are frequent RP’ers.
E. God moding includes:
1. Use of non-existent troops, resources, or land.
2. Ludicrous claims that victory has been won with no
casualties, or that you own a territory someone else
does, etc. God-moding will be judged by admins.
III. Resources
A. There are 7 types of resources on Engineerium:
1. Gold, Steel, Oil, Uranium, Rubber, Wheat, and Whales.
2. Each individual icon of a resource counts as 10.
B. Gold
1. Gold is the currency of Engineerium, it can be used to
trade for other resources, or be used to purchase more
soldiers. (1 gold per 10,000 soldiers)
C. Steel
1. Steel is required to make tanks and artillery (along with
rubber and oil.)
D. Oil
1. Oil is required (with rubber and steel) to make tanks.
2. For every 30 Oil you own, you get an extra 100,000
troops.
E. Uranium
1. Uranium is not used to make nukes (as the air would
melt them), but is used to make more troops. For every
30 Uranium you own, you get 1,000,000 extra troops
F. Rubber
1. Rubber (with oil and steel) is required to make tanks.
G. Wheat and Whales
1. Both are food resources. For each 10 Wheat/Whales you
own, you get an extra 100,000 Population. This is also a
way to expand your military, as for every 100,000
citizens, you get an extra 10,000 troops (10%).
H. Resources get replenished once every two weeks. It is not
compound, where the total amount you own is doubled, but
it increases by each icon you own. If you own 20 oil, you do
not get 80 the 6th week (20 the 1st, 40 the 2nd) but 60, as you
get 20 then 20 then 20. If you gain another oil, you will get
30 every two weeks.

IV. War
A. War Rules
1. Every war must be registered by posting a new
discussion called “_______ vs. _________”.
2. You must post a message on the nation your invading’s
wall.
3. The invaded nation has 24 hours to respond to the initial
invasion and then another 48 hours to respond to the
invasion RP, before it is declared automatic victory.
4. You can only invade adjacent nations (bridges count), as
navies are not allowed.
B. When invading a nation, you must post the troops you are
using. For example:

The Grand Third Reich invades _________!

Troops poured over the ________ border today….. (whatever you want
here)

100,000 Reichsmarines
20,000 Rommel Corp Tanks (100,000 troops total, 5/tank)
30,000 88’s (120,000 troops total, 4/artillery piece)
80,000 Engineers
50,000 Snipers
25,000 Flame Throwers
20,000 Machine Gunners
5,000 HQ Guards
TOTAL 500,000 Troops

C. When someone responds to an invasion, you must respond to

by RP’ing your troops actions.
D. A war is declared over when either party surrenders or
circumstances in the war permit a decision to be made. An
Admin will declare who is the victor after examination.

V. Cities
A. While this is optional, cities are highly encouraged for RP’ing.
They give a good objective in wars and are fun to RP.
B. To build a city, post your city you would like to build and it’s
relative position under the “Cities” discussion on the alliance
page.
If you have any more questions, ask any Admin or
The Grand Third Reich
