Purpose and Background

Construction industry is the sector of economy which plans,
designs, constructs, alters, maintains, repairs and eventually
demolishes building of all kinds, civil engineering works,
mechanical and electrical structures and other similar works.
Construction industry provides a means of transforming
aspirations for the social and economic well-being of a nation
into reality by providing housing, industrial and infrastructure
facilities and thus creating an environment conducive to raising
the standard of living.
The impact of modern construction engineering and management
practices is known to be significant on the economy. These
advanced practices when properly implemented have a very
positive affect on the overall economical development of any
country. Unfortunately the importance of construction
management is still not realized in Pakistani Professional

management practices for creating awareness among industry
professionals about their efficacy.

industry of Pakistan and its development sectors ;
To familiarize the participants about application of

To ensure timely delivery of construction projects by
incorporating proper planning, scheduling, resource allocation
and levelling to avoid time and cost overruns in projects;
