We are a public institution of
higher education in Mexico
created since 1991, offering short
length technical careers integrated
to the General Coordination of
Technological and Polytechnic
Universities.

THE FIRST BIS

INSTITUTION IN
MEXICO
El Retoo Technological University began
operations on August 27th, 2012 as a
campus from UTA with an initial enrollment
of 278 students. Later, in february 2013 it
had consolidated as a decentralized public
institution and the first to work under the
BIS TU system (Bilingual, International &
Sustainable Technological Universities).

INTRODUCTION TO THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSE


Is a highly intensive course designed to help students achieve a Common European Framework A2 level by the end of the first term.

PROPAEDEUTIC TERM:
INTRODUCTION TO THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSE

ADDITIONAL LANGUAGE ACCESS:

When new entry students demonstrate a


level B2 of English, they can receive
additional
language training in either
Japanese or French during the propaedeutic
term.

ENGLISH LEVEL REQUIREMENTS:

The new entry students take the For Real


Test. The very same instrument is used to
assess level A2 achievement at the end of
the propaedeutic course.
The level of English Proficiency required for
Associate Degree Graduates is B2 and for
an Engineering Degree Graduates is C1.

the shuttle service is offered to students
who need it, taking into account their

in the municipality of El Llano and
Aguascalientes Capital.

TU BIS program.

The objective is the
exchange of young
graduates of higher

collaborate and academic
assistants teaching their
native language in the
country that receives
them, in order to
strengthen in educational
institutions of Mexico,

PEACE CORPS MEXICO


As the preeminent international service
organization of the United States, the Peace
Corps sends Americans abroad to tackle the
most pressing needs of people around the
world.
The Peace Corps' Mission is to promote world peace
and friendship by fulfilling three goals:

To help the people of interested countries in


meeting their need for trained men and women

To help promote a better understanding of


Americans on the part of the people served

To help promote a better understanding of


other people on the part of Americans

A group of foreign teachers


who help with subjects like

Creative Thinking in a social
project, also they can
participate through
professional projects.

INTERNATIONAL
EXCHANGE
PROGRAMS
As a result of the collaboration
agreement signed in May this year
between the Universities of Regina
and El Retoo, took place the first
student exchange with both
educational institutions. This
involved the participation of 3
canadian students which came to
Mexico and 3 mexican students
who went to Canada, performing
activities of cultural immersion and
language during three weeks.

SUSTAINABLE MODEL
DEFINITION:
Sustainability is the process of change in which the exploitation of resources, the direction of investments, the orientation of
technological development and institutional change are all in harmony and enhance both current and future potential to
meet human needs and aspirations.

In order to comply with the third guiding principle of


BIS model, El Retoo Technological University has begun
to implement the following activities and projects:
Reforestation programs
Biodigestor installation
Architectural design of infrastructure that reduces
the use of electricity by harnessing natural light
Reusing & recycling resources stationery.
