Master of Arts in Digital Technologies for Language Teaching: Telecollaboration in Language Learning

Task: Analysing telecollaborative projects

This task builds on the foundational concepts that you learned in the previous section and aims to develop
your understanding of how a telecollaborative project is organized by analysing project descriptions. A further
aim of this task is to help you grow ideas about your project and, possibly, find partners.
As a first step you should browse the following resources and find a telecollaborative project that is close to
your interests:
https://iearn.org/assets/general/2016-2017ProjectBook.pdf
https://iearn.org/cc/space-2
http://www.globalschoolnet.org/gsnpr/
http://www.tigweb.org/tiged/bp/
https://www.etwinning.net/en/pub/projects/kits/kit.cfm?id=261
You have to read carefully the project description and you are asked to write an essay of about 700 words
discussing:

the extent to which the project corresponds to the goals of telecollaboration

the web 2.0 tools used for the implementation of the project

the design of the tasks

the strengths and weaknesses of the project

other issues you consider important

The essay will be assessed on the basis of the following rubric. This task contributes 20% of the variance of the
final overall course grade. Suggested deadline for submission: end of the second Section.
