From the
I'd like to encourage everyone to attend Clemson's Spring Study
Abroad Fair, to be held this Wednesday, February 1, from
10:00am to 3:00pm in the Hendrix Student Center Ballroom.
The Study Abroad Fair is the easiest way to learn about the
many international educational opportunities available to Clemson students. In many cases, you can use Clemson scholarships
to help pay for these experiences, and in some cases you can
actually save money!
Whether you're a junior with definite plans to study abroad this
summer or next year or a freshman just thinking about your options, the Study Abroad fair will give you a chance to talk with
professors and providers, to compare programs you're already
considering, and to learn about new ones.

* Honors Study Abroad Enrichment Experience

in Europe (Spring 2018) -- if you're studying
in Europe during Spring 2018 on a non-Honors
program, you can add on this 1-hour Clemson
online course to enrich your experience. I've
led this program for the past three years, and
it's a great way to learn more about Europe's
history, culture, and many current crises.
You'll get to know a group of Clemson friends
studying across the continent, and we'll all
meet up in London for a long weekend filled
with history, culture, and much more.
I look forward to seeing you Wednesday at the
Study Abroad fair!

Dr. Lasser

The Honors College will be there as well, showcasing three of our

study abroad opportunities:
* European Crossroads (Summer 2017) -- your chance to study
the complex problems facing the European Union in Brussels, the
home of most of the EU's institutions . You'll also explore Belgian
history, including visits to medieval and World War I sites. This
popular program is led by Dr. Steve Wainscott, professor emeritus and former director of the Honors College. Note that the
deadline for this year's European Crossroads program has been
extended until February 15--but act fast!
* Honors Internship in London (Spring 2018) -- led by Dr. Stephanie Barczewski (Department of History) this new program will
give you a customized internship in London, two courses at Birkbeck College (University of London), and a special 2-hour Clemson Honors course on Britain's relationship with Europe from
World War I to the present. Included in the program are two
trips to the continent--one to France, and the other to Germany.

Deadline to submit the

form is January 31st.
You must fill out the
Honors Candidacy Form
Found here:
http://www.clemson.edu/
cuhonors/current-students/
forms/graduates.html

Failure to submit the form might

result in your not receiving your
certificate and/or medallion if you
completed departmental honors
research.

It may also prevent your

diploma from reflecting
your honors credit.
