Your Analysis
1. Was there a variety of assessment methods used by the
teacher? How relevant was/were the assessment methods
used?
Yes, the teacher I am observing uses variety of assessment methods. It is
relevant because every student has their own ability. Some of them are
good in Oral Recitation while others are good in written exam or written
reports. It is important for the teachers to know the student's strengths
and weaknesses.
Your Reflections
1. Write your personal reflection of thoughts and feelings about
the importance in the use of appropriate assessment methods
in the classroom, including what students and teachers can
gain from appropriate assessment tools. Share your reflection
with your FS teacher and classmates.
Assessment Tools and its appropriateness is very important. Using this,
the teachers as well as the students may know his/her own strengths and
weaknesses. Whether he/she will improve his strengths or worsen it. Or
he will make a way to be better on his/her weaknesses. Actually, the
assessment method is one of the ways to test if the student really
understands the lesson or not. It also measures his/her knowledge, but
not all the time. To teachers, before making an assessment method, they
must consider their student's learning styles and ability. Their
assessment methods must be appropriate with their topics and to their
students also. Assessment Methods actually turns with the learners and
facilitators per se.

Your Target
At the end of this activity, you will be adept in designing, using, and interpreting results of
objective tests.
Your Way
Designing and using assessment tools sounds interesting, especially if you know their
curricular intentions. Take calculated strides in pursuing this interesting task through these
stages:
Your Tools
As you visit schools, study the teachers'objectives, formulate test
items, and interpret results, make a clear documentation of your
tasks using the activity forms provided for you in the book. For
your pen-and-paper test items, customize a table of
specifications, and prepare the test material based on the
prescriptions of the school where you do class observation.
INITIAL NOTES
Teacher's Learning Objectives
1. To differentiate the Mean, Median and Mode,
2. Compute for the Mean and Median and find the Mode;
3. Learners should participate actively in the class discussion
and relate the topic in the real world application.
Desired Condition and criterion levels of the learning
objectives
Teacher's learning objectives measures the cognitive,
psychomotor and affective domain of the students. It focuses
with the topic Measures of Central Tendency andit will test the
Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) of every learner.
Other notes:
Teacher must give real-world examples where the students can
relate. The class must be interactive and produces a good
ambiance inside the class to have a good relationship with
them.
3. With approved TOS, formulate your test items. Write each test
item in an index card, indicating the subject matter and the

Test Type: Identification and Solving
Test Items:
Write your answers on a crosswise. (1pt each)
1. It is the middle score for a set of data that has been arranged
in order of magnitude.
2. In laymans term, it is called as the average.
3. It refers to the most frequent in the data set.
Sample Format
Given the raw data, find the Mean, Median and Mode. (2pts
each)
Key:
1. Median
2. Mean
3. Mode
4. Renesis Likert
5. Central Tendency or Measures of Central Tendency
Answers
1. Mean = 28.35
2. Median = 29.5
3. Mode = 24, 25,30 and 45
Your Analysis
Do you think the teacher's learning objectives was
appropriately assessed by your test items? Why?/Why
not?
Yes, because I just get an idea with the examples that my
cooperating teacher gave during her discussion. I think it's
appropriate because the exam or test items were aligned
with the objectives.
Why did you have to study the teacher's learning
objectives prior to developing an assessment tool?
I've studied the teacher's learning objectives becausethe
test that I will make should be fit with the three objectives.
The test only turns with the three in order to measure what
is intended to measure.
