Description of how to implement in the class: To introduce the study of famous people, I will
use the John F. Kennedy BrainPop video to engage the students. I will start the lesson by asking
students if they know what _________ is. After a short discussion, I will challenge the students to see
if our predictions were correct. Students will watch the John F. Kennedy video. Students will also
be asked to remember one interesting fact about John F. Kennedy.
After watching the video, the students will share their interesting fact. The teacher will list all the
responses on chart paper or the IWB. If there are not enough response for each child (1 to 1 ratio),
then continue until enough responses are provided. Each child will select one of the facts to create
an illustration. After the drawings have been completed with at least one sentence to support the
drawing, the teacher will use her camera to create a digital image. All images will be added to a
PowerPoint slide show, where the students will narrate their image. The PowerPoint will be
converted to a movie format and uploaded to the classroom blog.
