Child Protection Policy Template


Objective
SIBUG MEMORIAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL promotes a zero tolerance policy for any
act of child abuse, exploitation, violence, discrimination, bullying and other forms of abuse.
Principles
1. Schools shall be conducive to learning and children shall have the right to education free
from fear;
- The school is a Child Friendly school wherein teachers set their classroom in a very
child friendly manner.
- Staff , Student Teachers parents and administrators are all child friendly
- They are not allowed to hold any object that would in any way hurt the pupils
2. All children shall be protected from all forms of abuse and bullying to develop self-esteem
and self-confidence
- All pupils in school be given lectures as to their duties and responsibilities as
learners
- All pupils comply with the schools regulations/code of conduct and refrain from
committing the Bullying acts.
3. Schools shall advocate a positive and non violent mode of disciplining children to foster
self discipline and improve self-esteem.
- Conduct the appropriate training and capability building activities on child
protection measures and protocols.
4. Corporal punishment shall not be imposed on any child in school for the purpose of
discipline, training or control;
- Teachers and staff are prohibited to inflict corporal punishments, and also warned
of the severe damages they will face as to the consequences of their action.
5. School Heads shall take steps to prevent bullying and ensure that the appropriate
interventions, counseling and other services, are provided for the victims of abuse,
violence, exploitation, discrimination and bullying;
- Create a Child Protection Committee and equip each member with enough know
how on what appropriate interventions be given to both the victim and the offender.
- Coordinate with the appropriate agencies for appropriate assistance.
- Coordinate closely with the Women and Child Protection Desks of the PNP, DSWD,
and other appropriate organizations.
6. Pupils, students or learners shall respect the rights of others and refrain from committing
acts of bullying and peer violence;
- Ensure that all incidents of bullying acts committed by any pupil be properly
addressed
7. Parents shall be actively involved in all school activities or events that raise awareness on
childrens rights, positive discipline, and the prevention of bullying;
- Conduct yearly parenting to inform the parents of their responsibilities
- In all school activities parents are strongly encourage to attend and always be
reminded of the rights of every child.
8. Visitors and guest shall be oriented on the Child Protection Policy;
- During General Assembly, Graduation and in all other school activities Guidance
Counselor, school administrator, PTA Officials and government officials are
requested if not enjoined to speak on Child Protection Policy.
- School administrator will take the responsibility to inform the guests and visitors of
the CPP

9. All schools shall establish a Child Protection Policy (CPC) which shall be composed of the
following members:
- Created a Child Protection Committee in school.

c. Representative of the Teachers as designated by the Faculty Club- NORMELITA E.
BUSTILLO
d. Representative of the Parents as designated by the Parents-Teachers AssociationROLANDO D. GARAY
e. Representative of pupils, students and learners as designated by the Supreme Student
Council Representative from the Community as designated by the Punong Barangay,
preferably a member of the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BPC).KGWD. EDITHA AMENA
