Windham Boys Turn the Tide with Win over Oyster River
by Craig Smith
The Windham boys basketball team started the New Year
off in difficult fashion, as they were barely outdone in the
final quarter by four teams, three of which were at home.
The hustle and diligence was present, but it seemed as if
the team couldnt maintain their high level of play once the
game was coming to an end, but fortunately on Jan. 24 they
managed to break that streak.
Oyster River would travel to Windham, making it the first
game the Jaguars had played at home in 11 days, and they

always maintaining just a hairs breadth between the scores,
but Kyle Rembis hustle would stifle many of Oyster Rivers
attempts at gaining the upper hand. Rembis blocked shots
and dove to the floor for loose balls, inspiring his teammates
and the crowd alike.
Windham would lose the first quarter 9-10, but they
wouldnt let that dissuade them from putting in their all for
the next period. Joe Shields showed off his range with a
jump shot early in the quarter, and Chris Houde would do
the same while Tom Emrick racked up the steals. The game
was physical, as most games tend to be, but the referees
had no interest in letting the young men play that style of
basketball. With so many whistles being blown, both teams
