Vasant Panchami celebrated with Pride

by The Paras World School, Gurgaon

Vasant Panchami refers to the fifth day of the spring season and is celebrated by different names in
various parts of India. Today is the day. However, popularly known as Saraswati Puja, students like to
offer prayer to Goddess Saraswati who is the Goddess of Knowledge and Wisdom. Although students
dont know much about the Goddess or the significance as per the Hindu Mythology, many of the public
schools in Gurgaon made it a point to bring students closer to Hinduism on this day. Even the
kindergarten schools in Gurgaon werent behind from this initiative. The Paras World School is one of
them that enlightened students on this auspicious occasion.

What made it a great day as an old man at Gurgaons best school ?

Students and teachers were the participants, who were talking about the importance of this day, while
parents were silent spectators.
As the children arrived and almost all the parents and guardians had reached the school, this Gurgaon
School began the day with a Saraswati Vandana (hymn) in praise of the Goddess. It was an enchanting
experience for me as a grandfather to be a part of it.

After this, everyone prayed before the Goddess like every other CBSE schools in India does which
showed that The Paras World School although has a modern pedagogy of teaching and mentoring
students, yet they maintain the Indian values which intrigued the gray-haired personality in me although
the dye hides my hair color. Students showed equal excitement in this traditional affair today like they
would show for any other cultural function. God Bless these students that have understood the essence
of being born an Indian with the thought that can reach any part of the world.

The Paras World School is one of the top CBSE schools in Gurgaon with top-notch faculty and great
administration. They not just live up to the expectation of parents but now I can claim that it exceeds
expectation.

The sincerity, that each of the students displayed today, will leave a lasting impression on me. I always
ignored when my daughter would talk highly of the school because she frequently visits the school for
Parents Teachers meeting but I witnessed it for myself why she is right in all aspects.

My granddaughter is in safe hands

I am not sure really of how the other Gurgaon schools are and what their value system is, but whatever I
have experienced today leaves me speechless and claim that my granddaughter is in safe hands. I am
an old man with orthodox values and I judge a student, not by his or her academics but the value he or
she has imbibed. I belong to the old school and I like it that way. When I see the children of this fast
pace world being modern and religious at the same time gives me immense pleasure that cant be
expressed in words.

When the heart is full, words are few. That represents me at this moment. It had been bliss to be a
part of the school celebration of Vasant Panchami or Saraswati Puja as many call. I hope this rigor is
maintained and the same spirit is seen in students in the coming years too.
